"You're fired!" Trump to replace White House Counsel before he's even started his term.

He appears to be putting as much thought and energy into this Presidency as he did into the last.

And we know from experience that during his first term, virtually all of his time was spent playing golf, watching television, eating and sleeping. He does not like to work, and he certainly doesn't like sweating the details on anything, so I doubt any of his picks involved more than 5 minutes of thought.

True... but that only reinforces my Bourbon restoration comparison. Make way for King Louis XVIII:

Art History moment... this is a painting entitled "Allegory on the Return of the Bourbons on 24 April 1814" by Louis-Philippe Crépin. Louis XVIII is totally not like Trump AT ALL. *LMAO*

It's not like he hasn't had the job before, though. So why is he making rookie mistakes?

Trump was narcissistic and prone to overconfidence before pulling off one of the greatest political comebacks in American history. If he wasn't hardwired in that way then, he most certainly is now.

I don't disagree with you... it's just hard for me to envision that as anything but a recipe for disaster.

If it's not a disaster, his inability to build and maintain a cohesive team will mean his second term will be less than what it otherwise could have been.

Last term, the party of small government gave us Space Force. This term we'll get DoGE, because billionaires know how to cut the fat.

It would be great if DoGE defunded Space Force. It won't happen but a boy can dream.

"CNN —
President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday he has picked David Warrington to serve as his White House counsel and that Bill McGinley, whom Trump had previously tapped for the role, will instead serve as counsel to the Department of Government Efficiency.

The move was seen by some in Trump’s orbit as the result of an effort to push McGinley, someone with whom Trump was not deeply familiar, out of the key role. McGinley initially got the nod after top Trump aide Boris Epshteyn pushed him for the job and got him across the finish line, multiple sources told CNN at the time. Epshteyn, who CNN recently reported was the subject of an internal investigation into allegations that he sought to gain financially from his influence with Trump and others in his orbit, had helped fill a number of legal roles within the administration."

Four years of drama, comin' up!
Four years of attention-seeking behavior from the leader of the free world. How absurd!
