If they cite unnamed sources, they are NOT biased toward reality.

And fact checkers are biased, as well.
only MyCroft isn't biased
😂

SIGHS:
Always MY task to correct you, clearly FOX is also MSM, but the separation was because of people like some on here who view any media outlet left of Fox or central as "MSM".
I bet most of our other regulars on here will understand why I listed MSM and Balanced Media separately, that is because "MSM" is a canard used by the Right to slag all media they don't agree with.

And why should I give credence to anything AllSides Media says?

And yes...Fox is mainstream media.

Ft Worth Star Telegram, Dallas Morning News, NPR, and The Economist.

Weather related events: whatever local broadcast my antenna can pick up.

Of course, I would never lower myself to pay attention to the Democratic Party's propaganda machine (AKA the mainstream media).

can I guess you prefer MSM, balanced media and scientific sources then?
Yes, very much. But I still read sources like Fox. They say some crazy shit, especially on their prime time tv shows. But their actual journalists, even the ones that lean right, can add certain distinctions and view points that are important for a full understanding of an issue.

The economist and Yahoo News lean left? Interesting.

The Washington Post has a fair number of conservative opinion writers, they just happen to hate Trump. Proving, you can still be conservative but oppose tyranny.

Fact checking is bias. Does Fox News have fact checkers? I have never heard them referred to.

The Economist is a decidedly neoliberal publication. And apparently, conservatives are abandoning that economic philosophy. Hayek must be rolling over in his grave.

NYTimes, Washington Post, AP and Reuters are at the top -- I've never been burned using them as sources. Guardian, NPR and BBC are slightly less trustworthy (but only by a marginal amount). Atlantic is great for analysis. I follow MSNBC and CNN, but try to be careful to back up their stories since of all the trustworthy news sources they're easily the most sensationalist and quick to publish. I've been burned by CNN a couple times.

Use the majority of the listed news sources. It is interesting to see the different spin done on the same event.
Check and verify.

well to be fair to AllSides, not everyone is going to agree with their list, but generally I find that graph accurate.

I think Fox and CNN are trying to outdo each other for the sexist female news anchors

Should they hire openly sexist anchors, even if they're female? ;)

You poll is confusing, MSM is balanced media.
Is it?
some don't think so.
even I as a liberal find them left leaning.
besides, ALL media is MSM, the moniker is a canard used primarily by the Right to slag ALL media outlets that are not Rightwing. So for the sake of argument, I separated the two categories because everyone has a perception of what MSM is anyways.

are they sexist? maybe old men watching them nightly are. just a thought.

Time to step up, and be TOTALLY honest.

No one is gonna be honest. It is simply something people are not.

Look a the results. No way people get their info as they claim.

MSM is Main Stream Media.

The news organization you mention under "balanced" are all MSM organizations.

ummmm, I do.
but I get your point, but nevertheless, some people might be honest in their answers.

ok ok ok, guess I will get beat up about this all day long, but clearly there are those who view MSM differently, so I had to supply those folks with a separate category because they would have lamented "why aren't you including the corrupt and dishonest MSM?"
see how it goes, I can't win no matter how I post this
:(

44% of the people here get their news from science based publications? LOL

95% here have never read a science based publication.
