In the event that there are first time Trump voters lurking here just know that there’ll be many attempts, probably until the end of time, to get you to say/feel that you regret or you were wrong or that you’re sorry you voted for him. Trying to separate Trump from his voters/supporters has been a weird obsession of some on the left since his first term.

Honestly, i think it's being driven by disbelief at how far America has fallen, and the misplaced hope that it can be righted. The notion that perhaps if enough light is put on the uniquely suicidal nature of voting for Trump, maybe Americans will return to their senses and minimize the consequences of their lapse in judgement.

Me, personally, I'm not sure there's much point. Something has broken, friends are suddenly strangers, rooting for each other's demise. Truth is no longer relevant or valued. Decency is seen as a weakness.

There doesn't appear to be much point in talking at all.

Every decision a person makes has the the potential for regret so, sure, it could happen that someone regrets their vote for anyone. I’m just saying to not let anyone else decide for you that you should feel that way.

I mean, I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that I disagree with your characterization of Trump’s win as “suicidal” or showing us not having sense but I have pondered that “minimizing consequences for a lapse of judgment” in a different context. I’d seen on social media a number of anti Trump supposed righties try to sell voting for Harris and doing so by saying something along the lines of vote for all the other Repubs you want and that’ll be check on a Harris administration. I wonder now, if a lot of folks were convinced that all these people from both parties were going to vote Harris so they voted for Repubs as a way to “minimize the consequences” of a Harris administration and just ended up delivering a Repub trifecta. I don’t know for sure, obviously, just something I think possible.

He told you he was going to lower prices and now he’s started the backpeddle dance to get out of it.

Now, if his being elected is a repudiation of the Democrats, then you will have to look at yourselves when Trump doesn’t fulfill his promises as you can’t blame us, or the deep state or whatever…no one else to blame.

Leftists are less than the brightest and best. So most of the radical leftists simply lack the requisite IQ points to grasp that American politics are basically like a pendulum. It swings left then swings right, then left again. The middle is where most people want it to be, but the back and forth swing happens. The issue is that in this case the pendulum swung SO FAR to the left, coupled with the shenanigans of the 2020 election, that the momentum swinging back is extreme.
