Our standard of living is declining. Our ability to influence world events is declining. The likelihood we are soon nuked is rising precipitously. Yes, declining GDP, relative to the world is harming us. No, it's not a zero-sum game, but as China and others rise relative to us, it harms us.
You are absolutely full of malinformation. Our mean average standard of living is increasing. Our median standard of living has maintained pretty much even, although the median income earner is now more indebted to the rich than ever and has a lower savings rate.
This is an income distribution issue, nothing more and nothing less.
Now if our leftist policies caused slow growth, those must have ended around the time of the great depression, because our growth since the great depression has been much higher. I'm sorry to have to bust your bubble this way, I know that the truth hurts sometimes. Maybe it's time that you start believing in actual economic history, and let go of santa claus and the tooth fairy and conservative myths.
