Hold on a sec, you mean to say that the Republicans are doing something about the killing of children? That this piece of data (children getting killed in school) is the norm of "day to day gun violence"? Yes, in the world there is violence the same as here and kids get killed because of home violence, because of shootings between gangs, between people or just plainly people that don't give a damn about others, including their own children.
Nonetheless, in THIS CASE, it is specifically about mass killings in which schools were targeted by people with hate in their hearts, with mental illness, or simply because they have been made to believe lies and decided to do something about it. This is not about preventing violence but about preventing preventable violence. In most of these cases, these mass killings could have been prevented or avoided if the Republicans had compromised with the Democrats in imposing some simple gun regulations that are not for preventing gun purchases for 99% of the people but prevent that 1% (or less) of people that are in that category of dangerous to others by what they have said or done.
How you can compare one with the other is beyond my ability to reason. The only reason you can even think about arguing this point is pure bias and lack of value for the life of INNOCENT children.
I mean, this chart says it all. Charts about violence worldwide due to normal causes are more evenly matched around the world. Here, the difference is 8 versus 288. That is not a norm or a normal problem. This stat does not happen anywhere else. It is a problem that exists ONLY HERE in the United States. In other parts of the world, there are always two or more parties struggling to be in power and there are always disagreements among them. This disagreement is one of a kind and it speaks volumes about the Republicans not willing to compromise on something as basic as protecting the lives of children.
End of story. There is absolutely NOTHING you can say or argue that will erase the data of this chart. This is an American problem and one that is specific to the Republican Party. Republicans are to blame for this................no ifs, and, or buts about it.
