You can’t ban human nature

Over 100 years ago, progressives convinced the country that banning alcohol would solve the problem of drunkenness. Needless to say, it became one of the biggest policy failures in U.S. history. Today, they want to ban guns - just like they once banned alcohol. Does anybody really think the results would be any different?

And let’s not pretend that banning one specific weapon means a murderer suddenly decides not to murder. The intent stays, while the method shifts to whatever it takes to fulfill the intent.
On this I can almost agree with you. Forcing a ban on anything never works. For example. Where christian communities only offer a ban on sex by only teaching abstinence teen pregnancy is high. But where sex education is taught teen pregnancy is sharply reduced.
Same with alcohol. When banned it only became a profitable business for criminals . But where the government implemented an education system about the personal and social harm of alcohol, drunkenness and the harm done by alcohol was reduced.

Pity that america has not learned the lesson that by educating people on the harm caused by guns and using them as a means of solving a problem is the way to actually reduce the harm done by guns.. Instead the pro gun group irresponsibly try to stop any form of education by always insisting that it is a ban that is wanted. And even more a pity that americans who want to reduce the harm done by guns also think that a ban is the only solution.

Prohibition didn’t stop drinking. It created black markets, built up organized crime, and turned millions of ordinary Americans into criminals. Now, with guns, they think a ban will stop violence - or “gun violence,” as they put it. But just like booze, the demand won’t vanish, it’ll just go underground.
This is the most laughable part about the pro gun group and demonstrated quite well what hypocrites they really are. On the one hand the pro gun argue that they are law abisding and see no need to regulate guns for the law abiding. On the other hand just like a criminal they will pick and choose which laws they want to obey if a gun ban was introduced. Cannot have it both ways,

No it isn’t
When a dog steps on a rifle in the back seat with one in the chamber, and kills the guy in the passenger seat, it's the dumbasses right.

Sure it is. When the kid in the child seat in the grocery cart picks a gun out of the mother's purse, it's the mother's right.

I think you're just making that up.

No it isn’t
When a tourist in Texas knocks on a door and the house owner shoots through the door and kills him it's the dumbasses right.

Does this sort of scenario happen often?
Is once too often?
What about the kid in the back seat picking up the gun that slides to him from under the front seat and shoots his mother, that's the dumbasses right, right?

The kid who has his father's shotgun out the upstairs window and kills the kid from down the block, that's the dumbasses right.

You bouncing some ideas for a screenplay or something?

No.

Dumbasses. They're everywhere. But in America dumbasses have guns. And being dumbasses kids around them have guns too.
In America dumbasses have a right to have guns.

Well said!

Murder is, sadly, human nature, so banning guns isn't going to ban murder. People will simply use baseball bats or knives, and in England, cricket bats or knives. In Canada, hockey, lacrosse sticks or even knives, perhaps all three in conjunction, backstabbing bastards, and so forth. Mexicans will likely use macuahuitls which are truly evil -- just look at those demonic jade eyes!

MAGA.

They've been trying, with moderate success, to ban semiautomatic rifles with pistol grips or adjustable shoulder stocks for going on 40 years.
