Former Representative Liz Cheney took a swipe at President Donald Trump as she welcomed the election of a new pontiff, Pope Leo XIV.
Although the former GOP congresswoman from Wyoming did not explicitly mention the president, it was apparent that she was describing Trump as "an American man of depraved cruelty, corruption, and shame" in an X, formerly Twitter post, on Friday.

The Democrats don’t actually have an issue with torturing innocent civilians, we know.

They just don’t like how Trump makes them feel queasy when they sing the Star Spangled Banner to “justify” it.

"Torturing innocent civilians," you walked right into that one, when has Trump given the first shit about how civilians are treated? When was the last time law and the Constitution meant something to Trump? Speaking of, when was the last time you saw an ounce of moral fiber from Trump? All the bankruptcies or was it banging porn stars? Was it "grab 'em by the *****" or was it his incessant need to walk into pageant changing rooms? BTW, you this outraged over civilians left alive in Gaza and how they are treated?

So what you are saying is the woman you are cheering is every bit as bad as Trump, but you don’t actually care about the subject, then.

“But….but….but… Trump!” and cheering people who’d spend their lives in jail if the world actually operated on the Nuremberg Principles is certainly a take the Democrats have embraced.

Do you even know what we are talking about in this thread? Or, do you think you really have a point on Liz Cheney that separates her from plenty of other people Republican and Democrat even though you predictably only focus on the latter?

Bullshit, two things can be true at the same time.

One can not like Liz Cheney's politics and prior positions on matters, *and still* enjoy her standing up to Lord Trump and others others thinking of him as a Pope.

The fact that you think something Liz Cheney stood for as you stipulate silences her on all other matters is the height of hypocritical thinking. Do you apply that same logic to anyone else, or only those that ironically go after Trump?

Liz sure didn’t have an issue with torture when her dad was running the show. In fact, she was vocally in favor of it.

Her “standing up” to Trump is rendered meaningless by what she actually believes.

You keep running from the fact I’m quoting her stated positions. She thinks Bibi is great, for example, and fully supports Israel annexing Palestinian land.

So yes, the Democrats have no issue with Trump’s policies, solely that he was the one to put them forwards.

No wonder they lost.
 
Liz Cheney is a modern Cato opposing a Trump Caesar.

Cato the Younger staunchly opposed Julius Caesar primarily because he believed Caesar's ambition and policies would lead to the downfall of the Roman Republic.
