Yet Another Mass Shooting

Sounds like a few short hurdles is all. IMO gunners either accept some compromise or watch an amendment come along someday which voids out the 2nd.

You think that people will just watch it happen?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Go to any of the thousand threads on guns in this stupid sub-forum and see how many posters say mass shooters use handguns, shotguns and anything but the AR-15. I'm not in the mood to do your leg work. And, I sure as hell am not wading through the sewer which is "Gun Control."

They DO use handguns, shotguns, etc. They also use AR-15s. The favorite gun in a mass shooting seems to be .22 pistols and rifles, 9mm pistols, and shotguns.

This a debating forum.

During my college years, the debating society (always a great night out) would debate contentious issues. Members would be picked to support one view or another.

You might be asked to argue in favor of something you didn't believe - it wasn't important.

For instance the subject might be: Should drugs be legalized. You might think that this would be the worst mistake a country could make but if you were picked to debate in favor you have to give your best effort. Often it was fun that way too.

Sadly I just can't think of arguments against gun control.

You dont even need to. Other people have. Do you not listen to other people?

The guy brought 3 handguns and 1 AR. Why are we focused on the AR?

Because Heller put a stake through the heart of the handgun ban movement

The guy bought his guns legally and passed a background check and had a license from the govt to conceal guns. What else would have prevented this? Are we going to institute a police state and check everyones social media, references from friends, monitor their activity and thoughts?

Mr. Bowers did not fall into any category barred from gun ownership under federal law, including felons, convicted domestic abusers, dishonorably discharged veterans, or people adjudicated to be mentally ill or subject to certain restraining orders.

He also had a handgun license, an A.T.F. spokeswoman, Charlene Hennessy, said.

Ms. Hennessy said the A.T.F.’s investigation found that Mr. Bowers owned 10 guns in total, all purchased and possessed legally: the four found at the synagogue; three handguns and two rifles recovered from his residence; and a shotgun recovered from his car outside the synagogue.
