They voted overwhelmingly for a disgusting, lying, bigoted birther in 2016 for president and a birther/pedophile in Alabama just last year. Would voting for a murderous thug be that much of a stretch for them over an "evil" Democrat?

Well, as the old saying goes, “America is the land of opportunity.” Apparently anything is possible.

Hell, with Donald Trump getting into the highest political office in the land, anything is possible.

Putin's not running for anything in the US, so the question is pointless and mute.

I would, however, vote for another Donald Trump over another Hillary Clinton for any office. And I did.

Although Trump is horrible from my perspective, Putin is in another category altogether.

I bet the guy is quite charismatic and strong to Russians.
If I knew who Putin was, and I wasn't brainwashed by Russian media....... as American's we see a total different picture.

Putin doesn't work in America, our challenges and place in the world are completely different... Not even suggesting I would vote for him if I was a Russian, but he makes more sense in their context.... in American context he would look ridiculous.

So no, I would not vote for Putin.... I'd probably vote 3rd party.

The reality is that far too many on the right would and have taken a Putin controlled Trump over Clinton.

And they would do so again.

Normally I wouldn't even consider a guy like Putin, but we may be getting to a place where we need progressive strongman leader to take our country back in the direction of justice and away from white supremacy.

I’m hoping that Homer Simpson runs for president in 2020. We need a president who is more aligned with the thinking of those who believe that the Washington establishment owes their asses to the good citizens.

We’re witnessing the failure of an evil clown president. We might as well try a cartoon president. It couldn’t be any worse.

Vladimir Putin, the guy that throws gay citizens into internment camps, the guy that manipulates the election process to his benefit, the guy who assassinates those who he views as a threat to his regime--is a "progressive"?

I would, however, vote for another Donald Trump over another Hillary Clinton for any office. And I did.

But Hillary Clinton isn't running for anything in the US, so why isn't that question pointless and mute?

Why won't you answer the actual question? We know you'll vote for Trump over Hillary, but would you vote for Putin over Hillary?

Moot, it's a moot point, not mute.

As for the OP, as I had seen the disaster Hillary or Trump would be, I would again be left voting third party. Don't need some Russian controlled puppet or another Corporate Republocrat in office.

When Putin is actually running and the other candidate is Hillary, then the question becomes relevant. Until then, I don't much care what young Reagan thinks.

You sir, are correct. Moot it is.

Ron Reagan should contemplate if Vlad would let him spew this nonsense. Of course HuffPo is salivating about anything that smears Trump.
Think, people, think.

Of course Putin can't run for office in the United States, so the question is moot.
But, instead of Putin, an American who has the same sort of philosophy that Putin has: anti democracy, pro authoritarian rule, willing to do whatever it takes to hold on to power.

That person is running against a liberal Democrat for the highest office in the land, one who favors single payer health care, abortion on demand, free college tuition, and cutting back the military.

Third party candidates are equally polarizing, either totally autocratic, or pro democracy but also extreme left wingers.

Who would you vote for? Which do you view as the greatest threat to freedom and democracy?

Or, would you just stay home on election day?

Silly, silly poll... Just seems to be more upset directed to the trump administration. Nothing new!

The choice was Trump or Clinton for us last election. The better man won! President Trump.
The Russian crap over and over is going to hurt the dems this November.

I do not vote for corrupt right-wing authoritarians, no matter what.

If I were willing to vote for Putin to stop anybody on that list, I would have voted for Clinton to stop Trump.

But I suspect it does not matter, because if Putin were somehow running for President of the United States, I would end up voting for him the same way I ended up voting for Clinton in the primary and Trump in the general election-- I would cast my vote for the candidate I wanted, and the vote-counters would recast my vote for the candidate they wanted.
