Then many people are wrong. If anything, Catholics are more Christian than any other denomination, considering that Catholicism is the Apostolic Church.
Used to be, but that is another debate for another thread.
In all honesty, I wouldn't vote for a Muslim.
I wouldn't vote for someone who associates himself with a religion that has, in my opinion, caused so many human rights violations and violent acts around the world. Honor killings, oppression of women, death penalty for gays, etc.
I know someone is going to respond by saying that there are plenty of "liberal Muslims" but honestly, I think that's just a guilt thing. I think they know that a lot of Islam is morally wrong, but they feel guilty so they still pretend to practice it. It's the same with so called "cafeteria Catholics". The thing is, if you actually truly believe, you would believe that having a gay lifestyle, for instance, would cause you to have eternal damnation. It's doublethink. I do not want a President that practices either practices doublethink or supports human rights violations.

Many people do not equate Christians and Catholics as they have very different doctrines.
Christianity is also a violent religion. This is the same religion that caused the holocaust, crusades, and the inquisition.
They're wrong.

Actually, most of those who claim that Catholics are not Christian are Catholic themselves. They discern a difference more so than non-Catholics.
I'd actually see it as a huge benefit if he weren't religious at all. Then maybe he could make decisions based on what's best for the country and not what's best for his religious supporters.
I would add that the President should only obey the Constitution of the United States. If he (or she) would do that there would be no room for a theocratic regime.
Precisely. The president's #1 priority in the world should be the American people. The religious can not fulfill that requirement, because they will always place their gods first.
Are you a Mormon?
They're wrong.
No, that is also not Christian.
No, that is also not Christian.
From the title page of 'The Book of Mormon'
"And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, "
Not that. Do you always believe everything you're told at face value? What makes one a Christian?
Not really.
