Even the pious and sanctimonious are ignorant of God's word, the difference being, they like to pass themselves off as pious and sanctimonious:

Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

It should read...

One should take care not to distort beliefs with scientific opinions at any given time of man...

You have a problem with that? If we discover something with 100% absolute proof that disproves something that was held as a religious belief, that would be a bad thing?

In other words, ignorance is better than discovery?

No where in the bible does it talk about all kinds of scientific discoveries mankind has made that better the world, you would rather just ignore them?

The Bible was way ahead of science when it came to quarantine, addictions, anger being destructive, promiscuousness, etc...
