"Making prostitution legal" Are you guys even listening to yourselves? Toleration has its limits.

The problem is some people do not adhere to this...They WANT to yell "fire" in a crowded theater.

Just remember the two liberal mottoes...

1)I have a right to free speech...now shut up!

2)Jesus Christ! God Dammit! Would you stop taking about religion?

If I am unfortunate enough to marry a man who cheats on me ( or a bad enough judge of character  ), whether with his secretary or with a prostitute, I will blame nobody but the SOB himself. Can't blame a prostitute for a bad spouse...

If someones going to cheat, they're going to cheat. Legalizing prostitution won't make a bit of difference.

And the question would have to be:

How much for a BJ?
Nurse for the last time. I'm straight. I would never. Nothing could make me. It can't happen. It's aginst my nature. No sooner can you be straight than can I be gay. Final. Period. End of story. That's it. End of discusion...................................got any Pez?

According to teacher...

Unfortunately, I never said that...I DID say there would be an increase, but for teacher to say a "mass" exaggerates my position and is a low-blow in the world of debating.

Okay, whatever, check the poll so far. And it was supposed to read "faithful married men only". And I think we can assume that the sweet, tasty Pez answers come down on the no side. What does it bother you if I get a hummer from a flat headed, toothless midget hooker with pistol grip ears in my place?
As for my position on "an increase", I have two comments...

1)As I've stated earlier, it's a matter of accessibility...Although I don't have percentages that could ever be reliably found, I think it's fair to say that there were some people near Atlantic City, before the casinos were built, who were saying, "I would NEVER go to a casino!", and ended up at the craps table "X" amount of time later...

2)And this is important....What a married person says now may not be what he/she is thinking later...

A marriage is in its third year when Bambi's Brothel opens up down the street...The couple is still wovey-dovey-smoochie-woochie with NO INCLINATION of coming(pun intended) within 500 feet of that place...

Now we turn the clock ten years forward...Thirteen year marriage-veteran hubby sees his wife getting colder as the minutes go by...he feels the love has left the building..."smoochie-woochie" has been replaced with "15 years on the job and you haven't been promoted yet?...I was so wrong to marry such a dummy!"

Ask the question THEN, teacher...Bambi's House of Hummers ain't lookin' too bad right about now, eh?

How about the other side? The thirteen year marriage-veteran wifey hasn't been on vacation with the family since hubby started getting all that overtime...He comes home and goes right to sleep while she watches another episode of "Sarah Jessica Parker & the Ho-Bag Trio...She feels her zest for life slipping away...She sees the bright neon lights of Bambi's Boner Emporium down the block and starts justifying..."We could always use the extra money..."

Ask the question THEN, teacher
Then they're weak minded losers and it's not my fault. You, like sebastiondreams, need to live in a Christian theocratic dictatorship who's sole purpose is th help people who can't help themselves. I'm a grown up now. I don't need your tightly wound ass telling me what to do.

Know why a flat headed midget? Place to set my beer.

Where I ever even came CLOSE to saying that is beyond me...I'm 35 and haven't been to a non-funeral or non-wedding mass since high school.

If I take a position that HAPPENS TO BE the same position as any religion, it is purely coincidental.

I think abortion should be legal...I guess you will do a 180 and think that I need to live in a purely secular society now...

As far as helping people who can't help themselves, I think you should be focusing your evil eye on those who want needle-exchange programs and giving more food stamps to 22 year old crack whores who are portrayed as "victims of society".

Doesn't sound too Christian OR theocratic, does it? Once again, over-exaggerating my position as far-right to make your position seem centralized is just another example of low-brow tactics...

It started out as a good debate, but now it seems like I have to sit here and defend your broad brush accusations of me...pure bull...

Don't you realize I'm judging you entirely on this one issue? I ban thee to the Island of Dr. Falwell. So sayeth the shepherd, so sayeth the flock.

PS. I'm right there with you on what's your attitude towards Islam. Lighten up.

While I agree that it is true people will use prostitution more if it is legal (build it they will come) I don't think this has has anything to do with whether a spouse will suddenly start cheating because prostitution is legal.
A faithful partner is a faithful partner. If he/she wanted to cheat... there are plenty of available accomplices.

For the last time? Mmmm, does that mean you're not straight anymore?

And a good debate it should remain. I ban you to the isle of Dr. Falwell on this issue alone. You can't say teacher don't study. I on this site have been mocked saying that I think the next big push will be the Sudan. Sound familiar? Besides me I've only heard one other person say anything similar on this site. I've also only seen one other besides me use the term "big picture". I like to say "big, long term picture".

So your contention is that many husbands don't cheat because they are afraid of getting caught rather than inner morality? How sad it must be to so totaly distrust all of the human race. There are good people out there. I know this for a fact.

Most Johns today go to prostitutes to get something that they don't get at home. I think it's unneccessary to cover what those things might be, but the point is that most men that go to prostitutes aren't single. They're married men that want any number of special extra cirricular activities that they're either afraid to talk to their spouse about or their spouse has said no and the guy decides to get it somewhere else.

I feel the same way about those who would want it legal.

I feel the same. Like if Cocain was legal it would be used way more often. The same with prostitution.

It's not a justification...read it again...It's simple logic...

If there were more bingo halls more people would be playing bingo.
If there were more Walmart stores, more people would be going to Walmart.

That is, of course, until you get to a certain saturation point...

If there were 7 Walmart stores is a one mile radius, an 8th wouldn't increase
the number of people going to Walmart.
But if there were NO Walmart stores in the same area 1 would GREATLY INCREASE the number of people going to Walmart.

Once again, we go back to my theory of accessibility...

That's a problem between that husband and that wife. He's going to do it if it is legal of not. Let's take the criminal element out of it and deal with it as a moral issue between lying spouses. Which, by the way, still has no effect on me.

How about Pez-Marts?

I was just trying to answer the question of the poll...

I meant for the poll question to be, faithful married men only. If it were legalized, would you then cheat? Opining on what you think some would else would do is not a accurate poll. The point I was trying to make is some on this topic think faithful men would suddenly cheat. Not with the fine coworker or girl at the gym or what ever. But a hooker will make him violate his morals. I was swimming in the apartment pool one night when two babes got in. One asked me if I could teach her the breast stroke. I ran away. But a whore would sway me? Not.

That's a trick question: Faithful husbands will never cheat, regardless of the law, because they are FAITHFUL.

Yet another first timer. Creepy. Exactly Busta, but some rail against legalization because it will prompt faithful husbands to cheat. You are the first to point this out (I think). Which of course was my point. Free Pez for you. Yea.

To answer the question on rather more men would cheat on their wife's if prostitution were legal, my answer is no.
Men who want to cheat on their wife's, will.
Men who do not want to cheat on their wife's, will not.
A husbands behavior is not dictated by the ease or legality of doing that behavior, but by the husband making the choice to engage in that behavior.
