Plenty of Judeo-Christians use the Lesser Evil excuse. Why?

Why such a mammon oriented reason and excuse over Principle?

The figure of 'Jesus' in the bible isn't a historic person ...

And that's the reason why Christians use the Lesser Evil excuse? Would love to know chapter and verse on that one.

It's obsolete to ask what 'Jesus' woud do: Biblical ‚Jesus’ never existed

It's obsolete to ask what 'Jesus' woud do: Biblical ‚Jesus’ never existed

The figure of a ‚Jesus' occurs only in three written works: in the Bible, in the Koran and in Flavius Josephus’ works. These three mentions of a ‚Jesus' cannot be considered as historical sources or proofs. In other words, this biblical ‚Jesus’ never existed.

Nevertheless the world-wide influence of biblical ‚Jesus’ over two thousand years – an effect, which did not reach a historical person ever – earns largest respect.

'Judeo-Christians' were judaistic people in Israel who followed the ideas of a 'Rabbi Jesus'. They disappeared by the year 50 ...

Just because Jesus wasn't a real person doesn't mean we can't ask what he would do. I ask myself all the time, "What would Bugs Bunny Do?"

I can't answer for the religious. I voted "lesser of two evils" out of pragmatism.
All one can do is pick the person they most agree with. It's nearly impossible to find a candidate that is 100% in line with someone's views, so it's necessary to vote for the 'best fit.' The only alternative is to not vote.

Another reason is so the greater evil doesn't win.

Another debate entirely, so what is your point here?

What is this phenomena, where atheists and non-Christians come in here and question the motives of people on the basis of what Jesus would do or approve of? Ever since the What would Jesus do? motto came out, atheist think they have some hold over Christians. Why don't you try reading a Bible, and learning what Jesus was doing and why? I suppose that the atheists don't feel bound by any moral code, and therefore conduct themselves this way. But when cornered about where their morals come from, they say not Christianity, or they don't need Christianity to be moral.....yet in such a case as above, they act totally immoral by somehow acting as though only Christian need to adhere to a moral code. So you have argued yourself into immorality by your contradiction. These are the same type of people who quote "Judge not, lest ye be judge" Yet they judge Christian according to a standard they themselves do not follow.

Matthew 7:1": Judge not, that ye be not judged.

"2": For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Ok, I'm asking Judeo-Christians who do believe in Jesus, why do you use the Lesser evil excuse. Of course if you don't believe in Jesus, your not going to apply, "Would Jesus approve of The Lesser Evil Excuse?" I'm not interested in your opinion of it.

Ha! I've been known to ask, "What would [Willy] Wonka Do?" Invariably, the answer is, "something wonderful, magical, and delicious!"

To the OP, I was a pretty idealistic voter for the first five Presidential races that I voted in and went for third party candidates because, IMO, they represented the very least amount of Evil and were the most closely aligned with me ideologically. The '04 election was the best example of me acting on the "lesser of two evils" excuse; my vote for Kerry was more like a vote against Bush. At least that's what Wonka led me to conclude...
