OK, so while I don't agree with it in general, I can at least understand the logic being presented against transwomen in most sports. But seriously? What possible advantage would trans women have over men? And what possible advantage would trans men have over cis men? For that matter, if a now trans man earned a title when competing as a woman before they transitioned, then how does transitioning afterwards make any difference?

Already got a thread on this.

When you look at who sits on the US board - when you look at where they are holding their “world cup”, when you look at who has been on boards previously - nothing about this is “news” or unexpected.

This must be the new hot con trans news. Exciting! Ban the trans fodder. Woo.

My question is why is there a woman's league. What possible advantage do men have over women in board games.

Seems odd to me.

I hope that history accurately documents those who promoted incessant anti-trans bigotry as a political or promotional tool.

I'm curious as to why there's a men's and women's league.

You mean stuff like males shouldn't be competing in strength and agility competition with only females?

I think history is going to be quite kind to those people because they're using their brain.

Differences between the sexes are not just aesthetic.

I stand by my initial statement.

In a sport like Chess, why should there even be a gender barrier to begin with?
It’s gender-based resentment from guys. Look at the rules of chess. The king, the ruler, a guy, is confined to one-space moves. The queen, like a deranged female shopper on “Black Friday,” can move all over the board (aka “the mall”) at will.

But it's not shopping it's capturing bishops and knights.

Lol

If you've played tournament chess you know how draining it can be. Stamina can be a factor.

There are women only tournaments. But most tournaments will take anyone, or anyone with a high enough rating: men, women, kids, LGBTQ people, anybody. So I don't see this as a huge problem.

Women tire easily from having to move chess pieces around... it can be taxing to the female as their focus is constantly diverted to things that they are missing... like shopping, getting their nails done, what the stupid bitch across from them is wearing, whose husband makes the most money and sunbathing.

There isn't. Women play men all the time. There are some competitions for women only, which I assume is to encourage more female participation in a male dominated sport.

I totally expected this to be an Onion article. How disappointing.

Oh so this is all a joke?

No. There are no leagues in chess. There are competitions, most of which are mixed sex. A few competitions are for women only, which I presume is to encourage more female participation in a male dominated sport.

So if there's a reason they separate females, then females should be separate.

Letting males compete with them defeats the purpose of making the separate competition in the first place. Unless they just can't get enough females to do this

And yet they were talking about stripping trans men of any titles that they previously earned.

It's a very perplexing decision that I don't agree with.

Appologies if you thought I was implying that you agreed with it. I was just adding to the comment not countering it.

"sport"....

🤣

Chess is a game...one that can be played socially and competitively...and one that requires mental skill.

Dividing this on lines of gender essentially create the mindset that women cant compete fairly against men...both men that acknowledge they are men and those that pretend to be women.

Also based on resentment. She knocks them off cause she is upset that she can’t become a bishop or go off to the Crusades with the guys.
