William Barr says ‘communities’ that protest cops could lose ‘the police protection they need’

You chose not to get it, don't you?

What citizen would decide to take a job that put's their life on the line, when the community hates them, and their presence in them?

What are those communities doing to help change that attitude?

If these communities are left without police protection, who is to blame?

Then buy one or two less domestic tanks and invest some money in community relations and begin to change that relationship.

However, I do agree, that this needs to be a partnership with the community and they need to take responsibility as well, but its a two way street.

Ultimately the final blame would rest on the state government for whatever city.

I looked at what Barr said, not what the OP hysterically posits for the sake of attacking the AG and making him out to be some racist ghoul.

Then try sounding out the words silently when you reread it.

More propaganda BS. Less tanks, better community relations.

How about taking some responsibility in the community itself?

Can't have that. It's all the fault of the police.

Sick.

Ok, so you have run out of useful statements and just fall back on "propaganda" got it.

Also your response to me agreeing with you on community action is "the fault of the police"

This indicates poor reading comprehension. Perhaps if you go a little slower?

Exactly. If community relations with the police is important, then you don't threaten to take away the police if blacks don't stop being uppity.

To say this is anything but a dog whistle is to blatantly lie. It's what Trump and the GOP do to energize their base, go Full Racist:

Trump and G.O.P. Candidates Escalate Race and Fear as Election Ploys

I've been saying (for 30 years) that a ton of republicans want this exact type of attitude.

I hear what these republicans around me say when they're honest. They are horrible people.

You didn't see videos of Tamir Rice or Philando Castile being murdered?

They listen to Rush and Sean. They won't see that stuff.

I don't even think these people have the guts to stand up to the police if injustices were happening in their own communities. They would sit at home and be scared.

What Barr stated is self evident. The Ferguson effect. Inability to fill positions. This effectively decreases police protection and communities are doing it to themselves.

Wow..

So does that mean that people in communities that, using the most American right of protesting what they don't think is fair, lose police protection or does that mean the entire community, including single moms who are sitting at home minding their own business, lose police protection too.

Remember, Barr is our country's top cop. I'm curious how the top cop in each community now handles his comments.

I suppose next we’ll have the president denying federal aid to more liberal communities? They already commit more than their fair share to the federal government especially compared to most conservative communities. This is nuts.

Your OP is a total fail. By that I mean no, I will not subscribe to the Washington Post. In my opinion, your OP is just an advertisement for WaPo, nothing else.

That's not a bad strategy to take. Just ignore what he said.

Such a thing would light a real fire!

It's kind of all they have, that and the 3484543589458945890435980453980453548943589045389 investigations of Benghazi

And ... the reason these communities distrust the police is the example I have shown, which is what Barr should be addressing, thus there is your direct link that you were unable to follow for some reason.

Wink Wink...

The police have not abused black communities throughout our history.

Remember, these same people would not stand up for their own kids if they were getting abused in the same way. I'm pretty sure they're wimps

It not like the police have been finding ways to stick it to them since after the civil war or anything!

Hey, at least white businesses hire as many blacks as whites (with the same qualifications). So that helps the black community.

;) ;)

Or pay them as much!

These people are too weak to stand up for their own communities if the same kinda stuff was happening. They just don't have that kind of courage.

I don't know if that would be the case or not. I cannot think of a comparable historical example of that situation ATM.

The traditionalists wanted to stay under British rule and never stood up to the abuse they were taking. It took the radicals, who simply wouldn't stand for the status quo, to show courage and break away from England.

So our AG is openly advocating deliberate violation of citizens first amendment rights? Figures.

(Don't try telling me that a government deliberately withholding services from citizens over the content of their political speech isn't a blatant violation of the 1st).

If it weren't for the radicals and progressives, we would all still be worshipping Enki and adoring our very curly beards.

There you have what, CaughtInThe? Don't be a shrinking violet. Come out and say it.

The AG is actively stating citizens could be punished for exercising their 1st amendment rights.

The AG.

Let that sink in. If you dare.
