I won't go out of my way or change my routine but no doubt will watch parts as I go about my business. They do pomp better than anyone.

Royal and noble titles and styles

  • 1948 – 1952: His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Edinburgh[fn 1]
  • 1952 – 2022: His Royal Highness The Duke of Cornwall[fn 2]
    • in Scotland: 1952 – 2022: His Royal Highness The Duke of Rothesay[fn 3]
  • 1958 – 2022: His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales[4]
  • 2022 – present: His Majesty The King

and:

Upon the accession of his mother as queen, Charles, as the eldest son of the monarch, automatically became, in England, the Duke of Cornwall and, in Scotland, the Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.[5] As such, he was styled "His Royal Highness The Duke of Cornwall", except in Scotland, where he was known as "His Royal Highness The Duke of Rothesay" instead.

The monarch has influence. I like that he takes a position on climate change.

I might watch a clip of it later.

Him and His coronation

In case you don't know the text:

God save our gracious King,
Long live our noble King,
God save the King!
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
God save the King!

O Lord our God arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall!
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all!

Not in this land alone,
But be God’s mercies known,
From shore to shore!
Lord make the nations see,
That men should brothers be,
And form one family,
The wide world o’er.

From every latent foe,
From the assassins blow,
God save the King!
O’er his thine arm extend,
For Britain’s sake defend,
Our father, prince, and friend,
God save the King!

Thy choicest gifts in store,
On him be pleased to pour,
Long may he reign!
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the King!

The UK is getting an extra bank holiday Monday for this.

WooooHooooooo!

Historic Jacobite and anti-Jacobite alternative verses

Lord, grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy mighty aid
Victory bring;
May he sedition hush,
and like a torrent rush
Rebellious Scots to crush!
God save the King!

And, on the other hand:

God bless the prince, I pray,
God bless the prince, I pray,
Charlie I mean;
That Scotland we may see
Freed from vile Presbyt'ry,
Both George and his Feckie,
Ever so, Amen.

It's about time we had a transwoman lesbian of color as monarch of the United Kingdom.

I don’t know why anybody would have interest in this.

Will you watch the coronation of King Charles III?

I will. Provided it is not during sleeping hours here. If I dont watch it live, I will watch replays. The Coronation is art on the highest level. It is above politics.
