Will you be watching the Stormy Daniels 60 Minutes interview tonight?

I normally never watch crap like this, but this time I probably will... if I remember... more out of morbid curiosity than anything else.

Then I'll get on DP for all the :popcorn2:-worthy debate. :2razz:

I hear she will have her clothes on, so what is the point?

Yep. I'll be right in front of the TV.

Well, first of all, she's saying she has no reason to lie because she's not getting paid for the interview. Hmm, wonder if she's making money anywhere else off of this?

Stormy Daniels: I remember arriving, and he was watching Shark Week. He made me sit and watch an entire documentary about shark attacks.

Anderson Cooper: It wasn't at that point a business meeting, it was just watching Shark Week.

Stormy Daniels: Yeah.

Stormy Daniels: I realized exactly what I'd gotten myself into. And I was like, "Ugh, here we go." (LAUGH) And I just felt like maybe-- (LAUGH) it was sort of-- I had it coming for making a bad decision for going to someone's room alone and I just heard the voice in my head, "well, you put yourself in a bad situation and bad things happen, so you deserve this."

Anderson Cooper: And you had sex with him.

Stormy Daniels: Yes.

Anderson Cooper: You were 27, he was 60. Were you physically attracted to him?

Stormy Daniels: No.

Anderson Cooper: Not at all?

Stormy Daniels: No.

Anderson Cooper: Did you want to have sex with him?

Stormy Daniels: No. But I didn't-- I didn't say no. I'm not a victim, I'm not--

Anderson Cooper: It was entirely consensual.

Stormy Daniels: Oh, yes, yes.

Anderson Cooper: You work in an industry where condom use is-- is an issue. Did-- did he use a condom?

Stormy Daniels: No.

Anderson Cooper: Did you ask him to?

Stormy Daniels: No. I honestly didn't say anything.

'spoiler alert'

It's streaming the interview, too.

Dammit, I have so many adblockers and cookie blockers I never even saw it.

Though I must admit that if she says Trump made her get an abortion or if there's a sex tape, watching the reaction of the oh-so-self-righteous evangelicals will be entertaining.

That would make the Left happy. They love abortion.

He made her watch a Shark Week doc.?
Oh the horror! How will Trump's presidency survive this revelation?

Got to watch (most of) it, the reception was sketchy only a couple times. I did miss a bit, though.

For the most part, seemed ok. Nothing earth shattering. She... for the most part... came off as sincere and easy and quick in her answers. No waffling.

That being said, there are two things that I don't fully buy into...

1) Not doing this for money. We'll see.

2) When she first went up to the hotel room and figured out that she put herself into a bad situation. I know I'm cynical, but a porn star of her level with a few years of experience has never had an old rich man scheme for sex? Really?

Side note: I wasn't interested in the next story about Giannis Antetokounmpo, but it ended up being more interesting. He's an amazing guy. :2razz:

depends on the year of the shark week in question.

most of modern shark week's programs have been mediocre with the occasional disaster airing (*cough**megalodon special**Cough*)

I don't think it was a "horror," I just thought the visual was funny. I'm just picturing Daniels...sitting uncomfortably...and Trump completely enrapt while person after person is attacked by sharks for a full half hour. It's a really trumpy image.

A few takeaways:

1)The threat in the parking lot and the timing were credible.
2)Trump not signing the contract seemed like a specious point, and was the shakiest argument from Avenatti. She accepted the money so I think it would be seen in court that Daniels agreed in "good faith" to the terms of the contract.
3)Daniels did sign that memo saying she didn't have an affair with Trump. Obviously she had the affair, it just wasn't clear at the time that the signature was hers.
4)The point about her having sex: her being in a "bad situation" wasn't incongruous with her level of experience. She saw it as a business arrangement. One she saw as distasteful but necessary.

For the most part I agree. Especially #4, that just doesn't make sense (her version/explanation).

Not sure about #2. I still haven't come to a solid conclusion myself. I can see decent points from both sides, and I'm not sure how a court would rule. I could see a court going either way.

I think you misunderstand. I don't see anything inconsistent in her telling of it. She saw her position as distasteful, but believed for reasons of her own that she was in some way obligated to have sex. And she also went on to describe it as a business arrangement. It made sense to her.

I can't say how a court would rule, but it's just not cut and dried. She's going to have a tough time convincing a judge that she didn't feel bound by the terms of a contract she took the full amount of money for. Contracts are interpreted by the total context of a situation, and taking the money is a mighty powerful element in the arrangement.

Ok, yeah, I may have misunderstood you and her. Fair point.

I made an error in the timing. The first time she had sex was out of some sense of obligation in her mind due to going to his hotel room alone with him. She stayed in touch, supposedly not continuing to have sex, because he was dangling the possibility of being on the Apprentice, so she saw her continued connection with him as a business deal.

That's sounds about right. Thanks. :)

So she got nothing out of it...(except a lousy t-shirt)
