Won't change my mind at all. Both suck.
 
It's not going to change my mind, but the purpose of the debates is to assist the undecided voters in making a choice. Unfortunately they are left with little choice again this year - evil or more evil.
 
A lot hinges on the debates for me. It will either put me more solidly in the camp I'm in right now or knock me out of thinking that way. I know what I think about Obama vs. McCain, but I don't totally know what I think about Palin.
 
For me? Yes and no, I already know where the candidates stand on the issues, the question is, can they stand the heat.
Will McCain loose his temper? Will Obama go on to uh uh uh uh?
It's 3 opportunities to show in brief that they are capable of standing the heat of debate.
With McCain already saying - no, sorry, it's too much, this economic issue is too big gotta put off the debates.
Yeah right, so what if, god forbid, Iran nukes Israel all of a sudden? McCain going to say, nope sorry economy not an issue anymore? Time out??
 
Y'all are killin' me with the insinuation that McCain is afraid to debate Obama. It's totally laughable.
 
Can we all just take a minute to pause and look at the statistics in that graphic?

In the entire history of presidential debates, the candidate who swayed the most voters in the period from the first debate to the last was none other than GWB.

About the only thing that could change my mind would be if one of the candidates starting singing about bombing Iran or threatened world war with Russia.

The poll proves that all our debating and arguing on this website is just BS. No one mind will change. Who thinks IT and Lerxst are going to love and cherish McCain and Palin by November?

McCain himself is not afraid to debate Obama on anything that he sees himself as strong on. He is terrified amidst the current financial crisis to further make a fool of himself of saying the economy is strong.
His campaign is also terrified of the VP debates which will showcase Palin as an abysmal choice - thus bad judgment on McCain's behalf.
 

You're obviously just basing this statement on your wish for it to be true.
 
The debates aren't going to change anybody here's mind(unless something unforseen is spoken). All its going to do is provide ammo for political junkies like ourselves, and we can all yell back and forth at each other about the absurdity of the others sides candidates. For the debates to sway any large margin of voters, something epic would have to happen. Not just little mispeaks or contradictions that Right wing and MS media outlets will try to spin into talking points. Its going to have to be something that makes everyboy watching go "Oh ****, did he just say that on live TV?".

I wish? Has McCain been on topic for the economy? He came out strongly disfavoring the bail out now is in strong favor of it.
He said that we needed a 9/11 commission to investigate what went wrong only to backtrack on that comment later.
He said that the fundamentals of the economy are strong, only to back track again and now paint this dull and gloom future picture.
That shows he just doesn't get it.

On Palin, did you see the Couric interview, Putin rearing his head in Alaska? How she answered on Israel? good guys bad guys? Who she think she was talking to? wooing a 5 yr old kid? It was pathetic, come on honestly, if I were in that campaign I'd first think - ****, we're so screwed, and would be looking for another job quick.

There is no way in hell, unless maybe Obama got up and said "I am really going to deliver this nation to Islam" or "I am truly a Marxist and Communism is my goal." Then, I would put a McCain sign in my yard, swallow hard, and talk about how electrifying the Cuda is and stroke McCain's POW status as a qualifier for the Presidency.

But no more than you or P/N or Navy Pride would embrace Obama, regardless of the way the debate went. In fact if McCain started out dropped to the floor and spun in circles like Curly and then defecated himself after refusing to answer any questions you would get on here and defend his actions as being patriotic and good for the country.

The wish that he is afraid to debate Obama is what I was addressing. That's a pipe dream.

Can't stand Katie. Did you watch the Hannity interview of Palin?
 
To be perfectly honest, I don't recall defending McCain's actions once. I'm not a big fan of McCain and I most likely never will be. What I do see is that McCain is evil and Obama is more evil. I do believe Obama falls short on the "evil scale" compared to say...Hillary Clinton. Unless something as you described actually happens, I can't see myself not voting for the lesser of the two evils that have been presented to us. And how dare you throw me in the same group as NP - even you know better than that!
 

You can't give credit to GWB on that. It was Kerry, who flip flopped, was wooden, and gave answers that were complicated, that gave the victory to Bush. Ask Kerry what time it was, and he would tell you how to build a damn clock. And Gore in 2000? Wooden, and got caught in a lie about going to Iowa to help people in the flood there, when he never did.

I was not inferring that you did, I was just saying that you won't embrace Obama. I was referring to American when I said he would defend McCain for making poop pants at the debate. I should have been more clear. But of note...Navy would be right there with American.

Yeah, that was a bad one on my part...sorry bout that. What I was getting at was that you guys all shared one common trait...that you would never endorse an Obama presidency.

There would a few things Obama could do and say that would force me into picking McCain. But they would have to be fairly alarming and probably well beyond ever being an actual possibility.

The likelihood of me ever endorsing McCain is almost too remote to consider. Truthfully, I just don't like him. Not at all. I don't like his policies, and I don't like him personally. I can't stand Palin...I truly believe she was a horrible choice. Had the Reps offered up somebody like Huckabee as a candidate...I might have been in a different position. I won't get into why because it's pointless, but I could have considered voting for him. Not saying I would have, but he would have had the best chance at changing my vote.

I can handle Obama, I think he would be good for this nation on issues that are very important to me. Yes I realize he lacks experience, but I also realize our Presidents have administrations to assist them in their duties. In that regard, I put more trust in my party than I do in the GOP.
