Americans getting together to express their opposition to the government.
Kinda the whole point of the country, wouldn't you say?

Hate Trump day yes

nothing about having Kings ...

I was wrong

Trump was a King and on Saturday ya'll stopped him. THANK YOU !!

Did you also have any problem with Elon Musk giving $291 million, Richard Uihlein $137 million, Sheldon Addelson $136 million, and Timothy Mellon $125 million to the Trump 2024 election campaign?
Obviously. I mean, that sure as heck did not work out for the Republicans ... did it.

Now that we have seen all the riots, looting, car burning, police attacked, and general mayhem by the George Soros funded, communist inspired, and violent leftist organized Antifa types and transgenders, what can we expect the reaction from the Right to be today?

They didn't get to see any heads smashed yesterday, so that must have been very disappointing, but today is a new day and I am sure the Right will have a few choice words to say about the No Kings protest.

What might they be?
Actually nothing...I could care less what the left has conjured up with latest protest. Life goes on with or without them.

A protest that remains peaceful throughout is good but it’s also, like, the bare minimum. I feel like many people on the left want to be congratulated or respected when their side protests but that all flies out the window when it’s the other side doing it.
Like invading the capital?

How will we react?

Ignore nonsense polls like this one and continue to support the PRESIDENT we elected, and who we see is doing exactly what we elected him to do. :coffee:

Tell us, what purpose did the mindless No Kings protests actually serve?
Did the participants need to be reminded they really don't like Trump?
Is it supposed to affect election results of the local elections this November?

I could answer your question, but we already know you won't like the answer. But here it is anyways.............

Protests are an expression of dissatisfaction. Protests are protected by the first amendment. People came out and not only expressed their dissatisfaction with Trump but also had a good time. I truly expected SOME violence, and was pleased to see there was little or none that I can find.
Meanwhile, Righties were sitting at home fuming. Probably watching Fox news all day getting more and more riled up. And I betcha any money there were a few Righties HOPING that there would be violence so they would get to see heads smashed.

Now consider the contrast: Lefists going out and enjoying the day and participating in free speech and legally allowed protests, while Righties sat at home being miserable and whining like they always do.

I hope THAT answers your question, though I know one thing FOR SURE, the whining will continue all week, next month, or until something else comes along that hurts their little fee fees.

I wonder how long it will be before YOU can get over it. A day, a week, a month?

I am sure that you could care less. Yup. Totally believable.

I did

we don't have a King, never had a King, but Democrats protested to not have a King so we'll never have a King even though its a ridiculous concept

perfect sense and a GREAT name
'King' v 'autocrat', a distinction without a difference.

The march is about America sliding toward autocracy. The 'king' reference is to put it into perspective, reminding Americans of why we exist. I am not sure why you find this difficult to grasp.

In my management career, I often found people that could not get their heads wrapped around the big picture would simply obsess over a trivial detail. It often separated the "men" from the "boys", sort of speak. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Perhaps this subject is not in your wheelhouse?

I think our only response to those whiny Righties is to keep saying NO KINGS and let their heads explode.

Like this:

Hey all you Righties out there: NO KINGS protest, peaceful, looked like the people had fun. What were YOU folks doing? Sitting at home FUMING?
Too bad, Trump isn't a King. Let me repeat that: Trump isn't a King. Are you having another meltdown now because I keep repeating that?

Trump isn't a King.

Trump isn't a King.
There only argument, albeit very weak, is to keep saying "Trump isn't a king" hence "I don't understand" (feigning ignorance).

Of course he is not a king, [insert your favorite phase questioning their intelligence or understanding]. This is not actually about royalty...

No King has nothing to do with why I exist ... the USA has NEVER had a King, Trump wasn't a king 1.0 and he's not a king 2.0 either

I've never met a single person who has said "say, don't we have a King in the USA ???? "

maybe choose more appropriate names ... like

Affordable Care Act really should have been called "Working people paying for their insurance and others people's too Act"
Inflation Reduction Act really should have been called "Spend money that has nothing to do with inflation Act
No Kings Rally really should be called "We Hate Trump Rally"

Actually America once did have a King. I guess you never took US history or you would understand the point of the American revolution. Its a pity, I assumed you had at least that foundation.

If you can't argue the point of the thread, find a new thread. Again, this does not appear to be in your wheelhouse.

All 50 states. So your attitude is that it was a waste of time?? Damn, if it wasn't for the fact I live in Canada, I would have gone just for the party.
Something tells me that DSA meetings are a lot less fun and very dry. Just a guess though.

The DSA website comments section the day after Bernie announced his 2016 run was revealing....I kick myself for not screenshotting it or saving it some other way.
Basically it boiled down to

"YAWN"
"Not a REAL socialist"

That was the day after I filmed Bernie's preliminary announcement at Canter's Deli.
It was a surprise, no one expected him to stop by just MINUTES before his TV appearance.
My buddy and I only heard about it by a text message from someone at Canter's and we raced down there "at a gazillion MPH."
He didn't even have a Secret Service detail yet.

Do you really want to expose your educational deficiency here? If you lived in Boston in 1770, you were under British rule. Britain had a king: King George III. In fact, at the point, that part of America had been under British rule for nearly 150 year, during which time Britain had multiple kings. The "no kings" rally reminds us of the origins of the US.....

If you lived in Fort Louis de la Louisiane (now Mobile AL), you were under a French King, as was most of what is present day US. And, if you lived in San Diego in 1770, you were under the auspices of a Spanish king... but I digress.

The American revolution was a rebellion against distant rule, and the King.

here, this might help with what appears to be an inadequate secondary education. Perhaps you should have done your homework?

You wrote: "Protests are an expression of dissatisfaction. Protests are protected by the first amendment. People came out and not only expressed their dissatisfaction with Trump but also had a good time."

So, what is the purpose of expressing dissatisfaction with Trump in public?
Do those protesters need affirmation by showing how they feel in public?
Are they supporting anyone in particular like in a real political rally?
Do they need to vent how they feel because they aren't really sure how they feel so they need to go out in public to find others who feel the same way?

It doesn't bother me at all that seven million Trump haters need to satisfy the dislike of Trump by joining in a local echo chamber to voice what everyone already feels. It's like feeling compelled to go to church on Sunday to worship a supreme being when there is absolutely no need to leave your home in order to demonstrate who you are worshiping.
If you truly detest Trump, why is it important to join a bunch of other Trump haters in public to voice your opposition to the duly elected president of the United States?

Seems like a big waste of time for millions of people who will vote for a political party that is leaderless and in total disarray simply to show everyone they do not like the most powerful politician and leader in the entire world.
It just appears to me to be very bizarre behavior.
But, then again, millions go to Taylor Swift concerts to see and hear her when they can see her videos and listen to her music any time they want.
But who can really explain mob mentality especially when the end result is so meaningless given the important elections are still a year away.

Apparently there are still Righties out there that sat at home all day and got so riled up, three days later they are still fuming...........

liberals spending time and money to accomplish the USA goal of not having a King ... which we've never had lol !!

we've NEVER had a King - good gawd

we don't have a King, never had a King,

Jaysus, talk about carrying on and on and on and on.

Let me help hecatmoggie:

It was a Hate Trump Day, we never had a King, Trump wasn't a King. Now repeat that mantra another two dozen times.
And then shout it from the rooftops.

Or get over it. It's a beautiful day where I am, what about where YOU are? Time to enjoy life, do something productive, and forget about the whining.

Your choice.

well on Saturday I had a fine morning, I hit some yard sales, bought 2 old crosscut saws and a case of poker chips, then I went shopping with my lady, I laughed at protestors at about 11:30am ... went to a great lunch .... more shopping, watched college football, got some much needed rain

today? work, training, got 2-3 hours of racquetball in the evening ..... another fine day actually

in between that all, I get to discuss things here and occasionally learn things by researching what's said and commented .... I enjoy it
