On Friday night I turned over to ABC to see what they were putting on to replace Kimmel since Colbert was a rerun. I think it was the Price is Right since I did not wait to see more, but I wonder if the audiences for all of these game shows or whatever other garbage these networks will put on will waste their time staying up. I do think that the Late How audience will increase significantly until Trump drives him off the air with pressure of license removal like Trump has done with Kimmel and Colbert.

There is nothing on tv these days that I will "stay up" for. If I happen to be awake that late I'll look for something to watch. Generally speaking, none of the late night shows are what I choose to watch, unless there is a guest that I'm really interested in.

I guess not enough people thought Kimmel was worth staying up late for.

Networks are toast. They've gone over to the dark side. Infected by greed and big money take over.

Mind you, nowadays it's more like 577 channels.

Last time I watched either of those shows, I only got 1 channel OTA.
My tv is whatever I can download (and don't ask me how) and watch. Except for hockey I never watch what is actually on tv.

The problem was they were already on the dark side but their leftist fan base is waning/shrinking and frankly getting bored and embarrassed. Further proof that fake outrage has its limits.

lol... Yes, I'm sure ratings will soar.

Putting game shows on is probably just a temporary measure. It is certainly much faster and cheaper to rerun a game show episode than to hire a different host -- and it's not clear who would take the job anyway.

We should note that late night ratings were dwindling anyway, and that likely made Colbert and Kimmel easy targets in the network's minds. But that's not the reason why either of them were stabbed in the back.

I won’t, but I didn’t watch Jimmy Kimmel. I guess the broadcaster has to decide what show (in that time slot) will give them advertising revenue exceeding the cost of presenting the show.

Anyone who is not outraged is not paying attention.

Or doesn't want to.

Maybe because they are greedy themselves.

Or just duped and susceptible to peer pressure and rumor-driven mind control.

If you're talking about late night comedian ratings, they've all been going down and cost way more than the revenue they bring in.

This is about authoritarian control of the airwaves. Not seeing the greed angle. One can be greedy and oppose Trump's power grab.

ABC is now bound and gagged, and there's no lube.

I sometimes watch Colbert, since T.Rump has F*d up so badly that I don't mind seeing him lampooned non-stop. Otherwise, I watch the early news and go to bed. Back in the 80s, I watched Johnny, or Ted Kopple if there was some thing going on in the world.

Now, there is neither entertainment nor news worth watching. Sleep is a lot more attractive. We have more and more TV channels, but less and less content.
