Wild Wild Texas

The bounty hunter had time to shoot but not jump to one side ?

The car was reversing according to the report, so it couldn't have been going that fast.

You can't go fast while in reverse? I don't believe you.

I realize it is fun to bash Texas but before all the facts are known, its stupid and its idiotic. Where was the bounty hunter licensed? Did he have a reasonable fear of his life when the deceased drove a car at him?
Did the guy who the bounty hunter was pointing his gun at have a reasonable fear for his life? No amount of excuses or legal mumbo jumbo makes this right.

So, public execution for trying to get away from a bounty hunter is fine now?
Fantastic.
In Texas it appears to be. Do we really want to give people like 'Dog' a license to kill?

why would the bail enforcement officer, be tried and convicted ?

Uh....because he shot somebody when he probably shouldn't have? Are we reading the same thread?

No

I would love to race you in the car of your choice, in reverse,
With me in my compact SUV going forward

How much would you be willing to bet on the race ?
When I was growing up we all knew who had the fastest car, the second fastest car, and so on. All are races were in reverse.

Why would he not be allowed to "walk" ?
I guess you don't understand the obvious. If the grand jury no bills his action-meaning they refuse to indict, he walks away from any criminal liability. If he is indicted, he will be arraigned, he might get bail, he might not, and then he faces trial. if he jumps bail, then someone just like him will come looking for him

well given your extensive expertise in the law of self defense, who could argue otherwise?

The conversation isn't who can win a race, but if cars can go fast in reverse. And possibly severely injure or kill someone.

Again, you mean, bounty hunter.

"Fast in reverse" ?

Faster than your ability to jump out of the way ?
I doubt that.

We don't know the circumstances of the incident. How much room to "Jump out of the way"? Narrow roadway? How far away? Steered his vehicle towards him? Just to say jump out of the way is disingenuous to the conversation with knowing all the facts behind it. Plus, Texas has stand your ground state, so jumping out of the way isn't needed for self defence. Considering his car was blocking his, he wouldn't be able to leave anyway by reversing. Which questions why he needs to reverse in the first place other than to maybe hit the bounty hunter.

The bounty hunter then exited his vehicle and pointed a gun at the man while he was still in the car. The vehicle reversed in the direction of the bounty hunter, who fired at it as it drove past.

This would indicate thee was room.

Who said Dog...or any BH, has a license to kill?

Why are you making stuff up?

Lax gun laws meet bounty state.

smh
So a Bounty Hunter who may/may not be from Texas and may/may not have done something wrong....but it's somehow Texas and Texas' guns laws that are somehow at fault?

Liberal logic o_O

It seems to be in Texas...and likely will be in every other retarded Red state soon.
Do you have proof that Texas has legalized murder?
Do you have proof that BHs all allowed to commit murder in Texas?
Do you realize that you may not have all the facts and that you should let the justice system figure this out before making melodramatic posts?

I am not sure how this has anything to do with the new gun law, as a licensed bounty hunter would have been legally armed under
the older gun laws.
The local news said he fired because the person he was attempting to pick up tried to run him over.
He will get to defend his actions in front of a Grand Jury, but the Harris county DA, is not a pro gun rights person.
