Gosh the US homicide rate has halved to its lowest rate since the 1950s, and that's with the expiry of the AWB and 10 million "assault weapons". Sadly, our rope suicide rate has almost doubled since 1999, killing more people than were murdered by guns in the US. I guess we should ask Australia about rope confiscations.

Look innocent enough on paper but in practice they were an absolute bitch as it basically gave the police the power to detain, enter, search, confiscate, etc without a warrant

Furthermore, the Queensland police are notoriously ruthless and even more so when openly challenged e.g. a gang leader issued a statement telling the world that they ran the state not the government
