It would be interesting in my view if Israel said to Hamas OK you are a state and have the responsibilities of a state to take care of your people and not lob bombs at your neighbor. Israel can insist on arms limitations just like the allies did with Germany and Japan after WWII

Israel did so when it withdrew from Gaza. How has Hamastan turned out, so far? Not so good, after all.
