Why Not Believe The Universe Was Created?[W:1581:1781]

re: Why Not Believe The Universe Was Created?[W:1581]

Einstein was a sex maniac who could not keep his hands off his cousin, among other ladies. I refuse to believe that anyone with such poor judgment and ethics could come up with anything theoretically coherent for the universe. Math or no math.

You are in a tiny minority.

Reasonable enough to win a Nobel prize.

We call that an ad homenim, and it's a fallacy. Your opinion of Einstein's sexual predilections (which the rest of us don't care about) have no bearing on the accuracy of his ideas. That's the beauty of science. There are no authorities.

I have heard that argument in church before. The idea is that Einstein was immoral; thus science is immoral; dont listen to science or you will succumb to satan; the great deceiver. You dont need to listen to scientists; ie evil ;you need only to trust in the lord; love the lord; and the lord will love you and welcome you into his kingdom.

This is a picture of me with Al...and I kinda worked my way into the area of his life that seem to interest (and disturb) you.

He told me that his sex life and his ability as a theoretical physicist were two entirely different things.

I suspect that if I had read what you wrote about him...to him...he'd have suggested something like, "bite me."

Nice pic. Was that taken at Princeton?

Big bang happening on its own defies the laws of thermodynamics and entropy. Therefore it sounds like something conjured up by an evil genius.

And the evil genius notion is classic in philosophy -- we had to study it in college philosophy.

When people like Einstein and Hawking make absolutely no sense at all other than their complex incomprehensible math formulae, you have to wonder if the evil genius is possessing them or not in order to send humanity off in the wrong direction.

The technical philosophical issue is metaphysics. And that's long before the science branch of logic ever starts happening.

Wow! Great photo.

Honestly I have nothing against the man. But overall I think he got confused by physics himself, and then just babbled on and on about a lot of contradictory paradoxes, same as Hawking does today still.

No...it was taken at Madame Tussaud's in New York City. Obviously, I was trying to lighten things in this thread up a bit.

My wife and I go into Princeton often for dinner...and often as possible I take a walk past the house where the great man lived.

Thank you, Riveroaks. I was trying for a laugh there...as I explained up above.

Most of the stuff Einstein and Hawking offer is way, way over my head.

But some learned people seem to think they have lots of useful information to share with humanity.

Sounds magical and a bit folktale'ish.

Quite amazing that some people still buy into that sort of nonsense in the 21st. century.

Wait a minute here, he died in '55 and you were an older man back in those days according that picture, so exactly how old are you?

I don't believe that picture is real. Einstein died sixty years ago and the poster in question looks to be in his mid sixties in the picture. From my estimation the poster would have to be more than a hundred and twenty years old today.

Obviously sarcasm, irony, and humor are not practiced here!

re: Why Not Believe The Universe Was Created?[W:1581]

Why not?

The rules of the universe we live in do not allow for such instant creation. However, those rules did not exist until the universe was created (if it was created) so why apply the rules of this universe to an event that happened outside of this universe? Who knows what the rules were then/there?

Good point sir.

It isnt at all amazing considering that humans are very a very primitive species. The majority of humans believe in some type of imagined thing or scenario. Most people are superstitious in one way or another. They will do silly things believing that such actions will bring them luck or whatever. Moderns humans are not much different than they were a thousand years a go.

re: Why Not Believe The Universe Was Created?[W:1581]

Dont worry they are both wax.

Nope.

Einstein is a wax creation of the Madame Tussaud's crew.

That actually is the living, breathing me in the photo.

Internet 101

Isn't that where they teach you how to be as anonymous as possible so you can say all the stuff you would never say if people knew who you are?

Except for very dire circumstances, there is not newspaper in America that would publish an opinion letter without the senders name and address attached.

The Internet allows people to be cowards...and act like outspoken citizens.

In any case, I do not look waxy...but I understand the incredible courage it took for you to charge that I do.

Not the joking type are you?
