Why Is This Man Still In Jail

Because the police know it is easier to get away with victimizing minorities and other marginalized people. Because many conservatives will defend the police and prison industrial complex no matter how damning the facts are. (especially if the victims are minorities and other marginalized people) Because nearly all politicians, of all stripes, lack the courage and commitment required to take on the corruption and other problems with the police and prison industrial complex.
 
Too many guilty people overwhelming the system with frivolous claims of innocence makes it harder for the legitimate claims to be investigated and taken seriously. That, and for the most part, public defenders suck. Part of it has to do with the caseload and lack of resources available to them, and part of it is that they tend, at least in my area, to be people fresh out of law school who couldn't get jobs elsewhere. Notice even in the OP article, they are bringing in some high dollar lawyers to re-litigate this case if it goes to trail again because it is admittedly so complicated.
 
I still try and figure out why Charles Manson is still in prison. The guy never physically killed anyone himself. He just had others do the killing the for him. People who have actually committed murder, and plead guilty to it, have done less time. Not to say I want the guy free, but isn't this America? The land of justice, equality and freedom? I would release this man over Manson, as he actually didn't do anything, but to try and say that:

is bogus. The system just sucks no matter who you are.

Seriously, dude? Are you seriously using the incarceration of Charles Manson to illustrate how "the system just sucks"?

Not liking the system is one thing... using Charley Psycho Manson as a poster child for correcting the system... whack.
 
Maybe he is still in jail because the person responsible for letting him out read that horrid rambling piece of **** article.
 
I expected those remarks just because it is non-MSM. The stark truths are often found at non-MSM.

Well, he was found guilty of multiple murders, unprovoked ritualistic murders. He has never expressed any remorse or shown, in any way, that he is no longer a threat to society.
I'd love to hear you justify releasing him.

He never killed anyone. Showing remorse is not what is required when one has to serve a sentence.

Short list of 62 murderers set free and killed again:
A List of Murderers Released to Murder Again!

These people actually killed somebody, were set free and killed again. Charles Manson did not kill anyone. Still in prison for "brainwashing." Once again, the system just sucks.

Well, if you hire a thug to hit your mother for an inheritance you haven't killed anyone but hopefully you'll never see the light of day again. Hey, maybe Charles needs a room-mate. Won't that be fun?

It means that more often than not, you do get to see the light of day again. Should you? No. Will you? Most likely. The point of my comment to being with was to point out that race and being a minority has nothing to do with why that guy is still locked up. He's still locked up because the system is screwed up, towards everybody. Killers go free all the time. That guy did nothing, still in prison.

Respond to who you actually mean to respond to. It has nothing to do with the mainstream media. I've read Rolling Stone since the 70's. That was just a putrid rambling worthless piece of dreck.
