All over conservative media, and from deadheads like Junior, come the cry that the coronavirus is a Democrat and media conspiracy to get the President. How come? Are Democrats and the media accusing Trump of going around the world personally spreading the infection? Not that I've heard. Is the presence of the disease in the United States the result of Trump's general incompetence, according to Democrats? Not that either. But well founded worry about Trumpian incompetence likely is a key here. The virus has the making of a national crisis and Presidents are judged by how they react to crises. Trump could make the virus work to his political benefit if he had the political gifts of Franklin Roosevelt or Ronald Reagan, but his gifts are more on the level of a carnival barker, and this is what worries his base. There is fear Trump will muck up the federal response and pay a price for it in November. What other reason is there?

He's in the "at risk" group. He's old.

I think the virus will be a wash politically. It's not as horrible as people were saying.

The average age of Chinese who died from the virus is 77.

Care to quote even one example? The only conspiracy theory is the liberals attributing the blame for the virus to Trump.

Just more of the I hate Trump nonsense. The democrats have been trying to slime the president before he was elected
and have Failed each and every attempt. This sick attempt will be no different.

Just remember why this is going on. For the last 3 years the only issue the democrats have stood for is:
seething Trump hate. Nothing else. They have zero chance of winning the White house back in November.

Trump slimes himself daily and his stooges love it.

Media Coverage and Coronavirus Panic: What the Numbers Show | RealClearPolitics

Putting this all together, the graphs above suggest that the media’s wall-to-wall coverage of the coronavirus outbreak played a measurable role in driving public attention to the virus and likely worsening behaviors such as panic buying. The television media appear to have been late to the game, picking up on both the virus’ spread and the shortages of masks long after they were stories.

Most importantly, the strong association of coronavirus coverage with Donald Trump in the U.S. and the economy globally suggests the outbreak is being contextualized as a political and economic story -- delivering a dose of panic in the process -- rather than a public health emergency that requires clinical and dispassionate reporting.

You just proved Jack's point. Now give an example of liberals attributing the blame for the virus to Trump.

Right? I mean if the virus is a hoax invented by the Democrats then nobody in America will die from it, and if nobody in America dies from it then Trump can claim it was due to his magnificent leadership. Doesn't really make sense for Democrats to manufacture a fake crisis. If and when it doesn't come to pass that would make Trump look good. It only hurts him if he fails to handle it well, and he can only fail to handle it well if it's real.

Really, that's weird because Trump literally claimed the virus was a hoax created by the democrats.

I have seen zero examples of Liberals blaming Trump for the virus only pointing out that Mike Pence is an awful person to put in charge of it, and that the CDC who really needs to protect us from the Virus would have been woefully underfunded if Democrats hadn't managed to block Trump's budget.

seething Trump hate. Nothing else. They have zero chance of winning the White house back in November.

Is that why Republicans couldn't win the White House back in 2012? Because the only thing they stood for was seething Obama hate?

The "Coronavirus is a Democrat conspiracy" thing is a pathetic use of propaganda. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Democrats did not create the coronavirus or the pandemic that ensued. That being said, the Trump administration hasn't handled this too well as of yet, and I do think that criticism of the response can be valid. The propaganda spin is used to dismiss any of that criticism by attributing it to politically motivated attacks.

Though in the end, I don't think the virus is a threat to Trump. He could be doing better, for sure, but I don't think that he'll sink himself with the way his administration is handling the response at this point.

Id like to think that the American people wont fall for this 24/7 propaganda campaign from the media, entertainment industry, sports and academia but Im not so confident.

Amazing hubris on display here.
Sorry, everybody, the coronavirus has absolutely nothing to do with America, American politics or bias in the American news media. There's next to nothing that Trump can do about it either way.
I know the job of almost all of the news media is to sell advertising but with tens of thousands of Americans dying of influenza each year it's baffling how blown out of proportion this latest scare has been. Been what, 3,000 deaths worldwide? That's about a months worth of flu deaths in one country.

The "Coronavirus is a Democrat conspiracy" thing.

Care to quote a single example of this "thing" everyone is talking about? An actual quote as opposed to your quote above that you authored and put quotation marks around without identifying who is being quoted.

I was quoting and responding to the OP. Thanks for paying attention.

They are professional victims. Have been for some time. It's half "omg the mean liberals are mean to me", and half "look at what you made me do!"

That's why.

Actually, the first line in the OP is:

So there's that.

Thanks for playing, try reading the posts next time.

Well, there are a lot of old people in the US, if the virus sweeps the country.

We just don't know, at this point, what is going to happen.

I say if a virus is detected in an area, everyone in that area should get tested.

That's going to put a strain on the system, if the virus gains serious traction in the coming months.

I did. Notice the absence of your quote "Coronavirus is a Democrat conspiracy" You edited out two words from the actual quote.

Trump is thinking outside the box. Yesterday he asked if we couldn't just use the flu vaccine to inoculate against the coronavirus.:lamo They don't call him the stable genius for nothing!

The danger this outbreak poses to Trump is that reality might catch up to him and burst the bubble of fantasy in a way that even his stooges can't deny. I'm not optimistic, but it is a possibility. More likely, they'll just keep with the Democrat hoax nonsense.
