I believe that if and when you begin to understand what it is going to take to bring anyone who visited that island to some form of justice, you will then realize the complexity and enormity of that legal task.
Unless there are sworn affidavits, taped conversations, or videos supporting accusations, you won't see indictments, trials, or convictions of anyone who stepped foot on that nefarious island. Interesting how some Trump supporters bought into the stolen election scam and relied on innuendo, rumors, hearsay and some conspiracy posted on X or Truth Social and ignored what evidence really proved about the election. Instead they just listen to what Trump has to say.

It's not just about what Trump did or didn't do. It's about what he knew. If he knew what Maxwell and Epstein were doing and gave them a pass, he's morally guilty and unfit for decent company, never mind the position he occupies.

I would like to understand what is a "thoughtful response".

Thoughtful might mean enough information to quell the hungry crowds that demand full disclosure of information, whatever that means.

That's rich as if Trump is going to permit himself to be questioned under oath about what he knows. That is too risky to him and fellow island travelers.
Do you really believe he will admit he knew what Maxwell and Epstein were doing when they were transporting girls to Epstein's island? Whether he knew or not, since the whole world knew what happened, the fact that he knew doesn't hold much weight since he was not president then and he was not a member of the moral police responsible for blowing the whistle on Epstein.
And if it is decided by the hungry public that he knew what was going on there, he will do whatever he can to avoid answering sensitive questions.
Then he will have to gauge the political fallout that could impact the results of next year's elections. It's all political what's going on and I would bet on Trump surviving before I would give any Dem politician the edge on this sordid story.

These facts about Trump would lead a reasonable person to be suspicious about whether Trump was involved in Epstein's sex trafficking.
-Trump had a long association with Epstein
-Trump has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women
-Trump has a civil conviction for sexual assault
-Trump has bragged about sexually assaulting women

However, there is no direct evidence publicly available linking Trump to Epstein's sex crimes at this time. Trump should release the files, as promised.
