Why is Texas a red state? This may shock some…

So how did Trump win TX? Kamala must have been one shit candidate.
Her problem was largely, She's a woman.
A woman isn't ready to be POTUS.
trump has only beat women. He lost to a aged demented basement dweller when his competition was male.

There are a lot of independents in TX and they don't side with the dems most of the time. That being said, TX isn't as red a state as it used to be.
so you mean Independents republikans vote for republikans?

Not news.

There's still statewide elections and they typically go to Republicans. Until that changes, it seems like most Intendents in Texas must lean Republican.

I thoroughly disagree. There have always been capable women, e.g. Abigail Adams. And women I could have voted for, e.g. Elizabeth Dole and Condi Rice right off the top of my head. Dr. Rice would have had my vote had she chosen to run.

So the problem with Texas is that Texas Democrats are misogynists?

Perhaps. But voters still disagree.

As of 2025, some approx 250 yrs of USA, no women presidents and 1 woman VP.
Also, 1 non white president.

All others have been white and male.

At the end of the day voters in Texas will support Republicans regardless.

Thank you for this. I live in Dallas and I sometimes get tired of the hate against Texas. But at the same time I understand it. We have some of the most corrupt, slimeball RePube politicians in the country. If it wasn't for gerrymandering we would be a Blue state.
There is the issue of why statewide elections elect scum like Bush and Abbot, though. I do recognize California can't talk much about that having elected Reagan, Nixon, and Schwarzeneggar.

I think that thoughtful voters are going to vote for the reps that best represent their own views and values.

Political parties are the only people gerrymandering. If it were not for political parties, gerrymandering would not be a thing.

That combined with the fact that a lot of registered voters are lazy and just don't bother to vote. This is a problem outside of Texas as well.

Why? Because republicans are very good at redistricting to benefit their party. Why do I say this?

  • Total Registered Voters: 17,323,617
  • Democrats: 8,054,976 (46.50%)
  • Republicans: 6,574,201 (37.95%)

Texas has almost 1,5 million more registered democrats than republicans.
But now they want even more misrepresentation, so they want to cheat and misrepresent Texans even more.

.
This is the second one of these.

You might do the most minute of researching prior to believing whatever liberal source told ya'll (yes, 'ya'll) to post this today.

The "second one of these" what?

You might do the most minute of researching prior to believing whatever liberal source told ya'll (yes, 'ya'll) to post this today.
Did you do "the most minute minute of researching"?
Apparently not, since you added nothing.

My source is here;

In Texas, a voter’s affiliation with a party automatically expires at the end of each calendar year, which is December 31.

More info;

Texas is an open partisan primary state, which means it does not have to register voters by party affiliation. When voters go to the polls in the primary, they can freely choose between a Republican and a Democratic ballot.

What many Texans don’t know is when they vote in a party’s primary, their party choice is recorded in their voter file.
In other words, while they may not register with a party, the state treats them as a registered Republican or a registered Democrat or an independent voter depending on how they vote in taxpayer-funded elections.
Further, research groups use this data — along with other datapoints like participation in local elections – to determine what voter registration in Texas really looks like.
With so much attention on the 2025 redistricting fight in Texas, the Independent Voter Project has received several inquiries into the registration numbers it has recorded on its popular state-by-state primary map.
This makes sense – voters want to know what an accurate reflection of the Texas electorate looks like in the midst of a contentious redistricting fight.
However, the thing that surprises many people is that current figures show Democrats outnumber Republicans in Texas. This may seem strange considering how much control Republicans have in the state.

Total Registered Voters: 17,485,702

  • Democrats: 8,133,683 (46.52%)
  • Republicans: 6,601,189 (37.75%)
  • Unaffiliated: 2,750,830 (15.73%)
Now, was there a point to your little diatribe?

Yes, you quoted it and I bolded it, as to why your rush to make a judgement is faulty.

Oh, Texas has some of the most corrupt, shady politicians ever. Their AG was committing fraud and the Republicans refused to kick him out. Abbot is a corrupt slimeball. It's nothing but fraud and bullshit from Texas government.

I have no idea what you are trying to say.
Do you have some alternate factual information to offer?
If so, you've hidden it well.

6 or 7 weeks ago, there was no plan at all for this redistricting stunt. The corrupt stooges responded to Mad King Donald's request to rig the mid term elections, because he is very afraid that the TrumpGOP is on track to lose. Then he would have to contend with an actual Congress that would put a stop to some of his corruption and stupidity. He hates that.
