Why is it freedom is fought.

We all have the right to marry who we please. Gays should be given every right that hetrosexuals have. All are created equal. Don't pick and chose freedom like the Jesus freaks do. Why are you against it? Gays getting marries is really no skin off your butt anyway so why fight against it? I have to admit being a hetrosexual the thought of two men having sex makes me a little ill but that does not mean we have to take away their rights. What say you?

Were does this right come from in your view. As the laws stand now everyone is treated equally...

The right comes from the constitution. It does not say that freedom is limited to hetrosexuals. What gives us the right to discriminate against a class of people. We ended the ban against mixed race couples didn't we so why not gay couples. Its the same thing right?

It's like shooting fish in a barrel.......

Where is marriage mentioned in the constitution? There is no discrimination. I can't marry another man; I can only marry a woman. My wife can't marry another woman, so she chose me instead. Where is the discrimination?

Why are you so worried about the institution of marriage when the divorce rate has been undermining it for years and I have not heard one conservative be outraged. If the ban on mixed race marriage was ended then the ban on gay marriage should end also.

Dayum!

Which amendment eliminated the ban on mixed race marriage?

Did Lincoln cover that in his Gettysburg Address, or did Lincoln just receive mail there?

Inquiring minds want to know!

That's Mr. Maroon to you!

I get plenty of likes on my threads and have debated everyone from every political spectrum and you are the only one who won't debate me. All you want to do is insult me and not even go toe to toe with me. It makes you look like a coward who can't defend your point of view. You hide behind one liners and insults. Can't you defend your point of view? I think not.

Did the ending of the restrictions on interracial marriage fundamentally change the definition of marriage? No, it did not. I do have a problem with divorce rates in this country and place the blame on the no fault divorce laws instituted in the sixties and seventies. If two people are willing to enter into a contract for life (vows) and the State recognizes it with special benefits, it should be very difficult and/or costly to get out of the contract (vow)... What else ya got...

Yes, but for the most part they fail the man and woman test...

I have nothing to defend.

You are the proponent of 'if it feels good, do it'.

How can I debate such lofty goals that include snorting and toking 24/7?

Who gives a crap about the institution of marrage? People should worrry about their own marriage and not some gays getting married. 58% of Americans now support gay marriage and that number is growing. This is one issue where the right wing is going to lose. The queston is when?

Then answer my questions.

Then why do you care? I can take a poll tomorrow and get an opposite result. In case you haven't noticed, most pollsters have an underlying agenda...

Hey, AP, are you telling me that my 2 Golden Retrievers cannot get legally married!?

Seriously?

What is this you say!?

They are dishonest!?

Something about liars and statistics, or statistics and liars, I hear.......

Then you can't debate. Who says I smoke and snort 24/7? I have never said that. If you want to drink or smoke a joint te relax after work then I am for that but I am not a complete hedonist like you are trying to paint me. When did I say that? More and more Americans every day say drugs should be legal like they are going to win that debate in the long run just like gay marriage. I respect your opinion but must say it is a losing argument and will be even more so when the youth in this country gets old enought to vote.
