Why is it freedom is fought.

Gay rights is a freedom issue and it is being fought bigtime by the moral crusaders. The war on drugs is a big time violation of our personal freedoms and the moral crusaders are against that too as they are against abortion rights. These same hypocrited fought against the ERA and ending the ban against iner racial marriage.

If we are serous about being a free country then these moral crusaders need to be stopped at every turn because they are the enemy of freedom and mean us all no good.I say to them if they don't like these things then don't engage in them and stay the **** out of the way of true freedom.Practice what you preach.If Sean Hannity starts his show off with "Let freedom ring" then he should be for freedom not big brothers dictating morality.

For God's sake, James. You rail on about freedom, but on the other hand, think you are entitled to having your basic needs met by the taxpayer. Freedom implies freedom to do what you like and enjoy, but it also implies responsibility to meet your own needs. Do you really not understand this concept? You can't have your cake and eat it too. You hit the moral crusaders. But what about the gun control crowd that want to take our freedom away from owning guns? What about the freedom of not wearing a motorcycle helmet or to be able to smoke in any place you want to. What about the freedom of either having health insurance or not? What about the freedom to keep all of the money you earn?

With every law passed some lose some freedoms for safety purposes, security purposes or just to get the behavior either someone or the government wants. Our tax system is full of laws to get you to behave the way the government wants you too. One mans idea of freedom can become another’s oppression.

You mention drugs, that is as much a safety issue as wearing a motorcycle helmet of making you do 20MPH in a school zone. I have no problem with gay marriage, but I believe it isn’t a freedom issue, it is an issue to be decided by the states where marriage is regulated. Not a federal one.

Businesses serve the needs of their customers. If people were will to pay the prices that would be necessary for everything to be manufactured here, they would do so, but people want to spend the least for the quality they are paying...

At least that is not a hard line. Do you agree that 2.5 million non violent drug dealers and users in prison at a cost of 25 billion dollars a year is way too much to pay both in money and freedom? sounds like a man with an agenda. But a lot of us do not look at drug use as a moral issue, it is an addiction issue, a health issue, a safety issue. It really does not matter if you are hit by a drunk driver or someone spaced out on drugs, you're just as dead.

I never stated I hated drug users, but there are laws against sale and use. IMV criminal sales should be treated as harshly as they are now, while use should be handled as I have already suggested...
