Why is almost no one talking about the two school kids who were shot last week and only concentrating on the guy who was rich/opinionated?

Those kids in that school weren't selling hate for money. They weren't trashing whole groups of people. Not sure they were even targeted.

They were just going to class trying to get good grades so their parents would be proud of them.

Why are they not just as big a story? They got shot with bullets too. In a school too. These stories should be huge.

Are we really to the point where if KIDS get SHOT in a SCHOOL the KIDS have to DIE before it's a big story (and sometimes not even then)?

That might be the fastest I've ever seen a school shooting get ignored.

"According to the ADL report, several school shooters in the past year, including Holly, had been active on the same website, which the organization says is known for hosting content backing white supremacist ideas as well as material portraying graphic violence against both people and animals. People can navigate to the website, <I REFUSE TO POST THE NAME>, and access a forum where they can watch real images of beheadings, shootings and other violence. The site started on Reddit before being banned in March 2019.

...

The website Holly used was also frequented, the ADL says, by other individuals who have carried out school shootings. They include 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow, who shot and killed a student and a teacher at Abundant Life Christian school in Wisconsin last year, and Solomon Henderson, a 17-year-old who committed a shooting that killed one and wounded another at Antioch High School in Nashville in January."

Targeted outrage. There's a lot of that going around whether we're talking about shootings or famines

While it's true that your average person does not have the time or energy to track every single event of a given type, it definitely remains suspicious when someone only seems to care about just one instance of an event type (especially where any number of the ignored events are in some measurable way worse).

Extra credit: chances are that people taking advantage of Kirk's death to talk about how Democrats and the left are going to answer for it, yadda yadda, are the same people who would accuse you of playing politics if you talked about gun control in relation to yet another senseless shooting....

Same question could be asked about Melissa Hortman.

Righties don't really give a you-know-what about the kids or some Democrat, but kill one of theirs, it's civil war time !!

They very obviously don't matter to those currently in power, and it's obvious. Gun restrictions are off the table. Children lives are not. The Republican Party is despicable.

And for that matter, this guy was (obviously) targeted and gunned down in Tennessee BY HIS OWN BROTHER and no one here would even hear about it (except for this post).

Where is the outrage??

Two reasons:

1. Celebrities always get more attention. People cared more about Michael Jackson’s death than others who OD’d the same day or week, too.

2. Deaths caught on camera always garner more attention. Hundreds if not thousands were watching when Kirk was shot. It’s not entirely different from say George Floyd garnering more attention because his murder was recorded and shared. The “scene” of school shootings are rarely made public, and the actual act, almost never.

It's wild that we've just become numb to this.

I think there's multiple reasons that were obvious, but there's also the fact that when the right wants to politicize something, they are relentless and constantly on message. Every X feed and influencer is talking about it. Fox News will talk about it every hour on every show as well Newsmax and others. Even shit that doesn't make sense can be politicized.

The Sydney Sweeny commercial and the girl stabbed on the train. No clue how either of those are political, but I start seeing it pop up everywhere as some sort of political/culture war issue.

With Trump in the White House and doing so poorly, it seems like they are reaching a lot further than normal to keep the base angry and motivated.

The mainstream media reports on something, may spend a little time on it, and moves on.

100% accurate.

Reason why the girl stabbed on the train is becoming political is because a black man stabbed a white woman.

With Trump in the White House and doing so poorly, it seems like they are reaching a lot further than normal to keep the base angry and motivated.
Trump pushed this "Kirk is a martyr" and MAGA in Congress now want to erect statues of him everywhere.
Kirk is MAGA's MLK.

The mainstream media reports on something, may spend a little time on it, and moves on.
Depends on the story. Kirk's death is still garnering a lot of attention because MAGA keep it in the forefront.
The needless deaths of the Minnesota senator and his wife were mostly ignored by MAGA and Trump, so it fell off the front page the next day.
Like school shootings, if Trump or MAGA are not interested, then the media quickly moves on.

It's simple, Charlie kirk is a bigger news story. Kirk sales. It's higher profile.
I noticed you didn't post on why the left barely covered the murder of the Ukrainian girl murdered on a bus by a psycho black man with 14 priors. Why was that?

The attention on Kirk's demise was due to the broadly based cheering from liberal circles at his political assassination, whereas the the amount of cheering for the deaths of the children was either de minimis or completely absent.

... but don't let that interfere with your phony pearl clutching.
