There won't be a ton who come out against Trump/Miller/MAGA's fascism but when they do we should welcome them back to the side fighting against fascism and who promotes sanity/decency.

"For over twelve years, I worked inside the Republican ecosystem, helping the party advance its goals in several fields, ranging from grassroots voter outreach to digital fundraising. I worked inside GOP circles through Trump’s takeover of the party, his initial downfall, and his resurgence in 2023–2024. At every step along the way, I rationalized, compartmentalized, and found excuses to stay tethered to the party, even as I grew to believe it was undermining the foundations of our constitutional republic. But over the last few months, the compartmentalization and coping stopped working to silence my conscience.

And now, after more than a decade, I have decided I have finally had enough.

I quit. I quit the Republican party and my job as an accomplice to the party in the throes of an authoritarian cult. Today, I resigned from my career as a senior fundraising strategist for one of the leading Republican digital fundraising firms in Washington, D.C."

It's great to see, but unfortunately, such stories are rare, where for every Miles, there is an army of people who are corrupt traitors who are accomplices. We should celebrate the exceptions, but we need the country to oppose and defeat the traitors.

Treacherous traitors who smile and lie to your face like li'l Mikey Johnson.

"The clients I oversaw and the emails I wrote for them were all 100 percent pro-MAGA. Every piece of fundraising content had to somehow out-MAGA the previous. It was routine to publish content that pushed election fraud conspiracies, stoked anti-immigrant sentiment, and sowed distrust in our institutions."

Even more...

"WE’RE AT THE POINT in the story where I know what you’re thinking: How are you in any way a sympathetic, let alone a believable, character in any of this? Perhaps you’re asking why I should be listened to. After all, I stuck around in the muck I’m now decrying for years. I profited from it (albeit barely). That’s fair."

...

"I’m fully aware that any excuses at this point won’t justify why I stayed so long and will only sound like thin attempts at rationalization to alleviate my personal guilt.

...

"My intention rather is to try to explain how it is that people who know better don’t act on that belief—to illuminate how we justify our contributions to the degradation of our politics in real time."

...

"So, why now—why have I arrived at this decision today? At every mile marker, I’ve rationalized, compartmentalized, and found every excuse to stay. I stayed past Trump’s migrants-are-‘rapists’ tirade. The January 6th insurrection wasn’t enough for me to leave. His lack of leadership during the COVID pandemic contributed to the deaths of over a million Americans, yet I still went into the office.

I’ve made this decision now because our nation has arrived at a moment in its history where staying silent for personal comfort isn’t an option anymore."

Good for him.

I hope more come to this realization but it won't matter they will be labeled as RINO's etc because speaking against Trump is simply not allowed.

He and his wife vote.

His last part...

"I wish I had realized this sooner and I applaud my colleagues who did so long before me. For those who remain and who harbor doubts about what the Republican party has become, this is my message to you: I know the thought of walking away from your career and your familiar social network is terrifying. I urge you to recognize that our nation is heading down a very dark path. But it’s not too late to change direction. If you believe in this country now is the time to refuse to ferry its destruction for a tainted livelihood. Take a stand. Speak out. Show your pride as an American who believes in the Constitution and the values we grew up with.

Today, I quit allowing my complacency to destroy America, and I urge you to quit, too."

What we really need is a pro-civil libertarian middle third party. I am an unapologetic economic leftist, but I would be willing to put aside my economic concerns in the short-term and caucus with a party that committed itself less to the expansion of foreign hegemony and more on domestic production, and above all else, and end to our pathetic national security state, which, as we've seen, can easily be weaponized against American citizens when in the wrong hands, which it clearly is in now.

were is the operative word. They are disgrased and went Dem or silent
Neocons are still Republicans, whether you like it or not.

Good for this particular neocon, for having the guts, the integrity, and the patriotism to point out the authoritarianism embraced by the leader of the GOP and his Administration.

sso they leave the party and/or are disgraced and they are Republicans?

Keep in mind that not all neocons have left the GOP.

You might consider this particular person "disgraced". You might regard other neocons as "disgraced". But your opinion doesn't mean they've somehow been booted out of the Republican Party.

Back to the topic: a Republican has decided he can no longer stomach the authoritarianism of his party and its leader. Too bad other Republicans embrace trump's and the GOP's authoritarianism.

...Under President Donald Trump, the Republican party, he writes, has "devolved into a cult of personality that mirrors the worst authoritarian regimes of the last one hundred years."...

Just wondering. Did you look at who is supporting the No Kings rallies?
Communist Party of USA, Democrat Socialist of America, Freedom Socialist Party, Young Communist League of NY, ACLU, Indivisible, Socialist Equality Party, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Socialist Worker publication, Move On, various border collialitions and progressive networks, 50501,American Federation of Teachers. The Open Society Foundation (funded by George Soros).
I'd also like to point out: We have no king. Our constitution prevents it. If we had a King, there would have been no rally, the King would have prevented it. IN this case President Trump, who the No Kings supporters claim is a King, would have simply forbidden it, called in the troops and law enforcement to stop it, and would have closed all the national parks along with the National Mall in DC so there could be no rally. I also remind you that President Barack Obama closed the national parks and the Mall in DC during the Government Shutdown 2013, during his Presidency so there could be no protests.
As usual the left has a complete different standard for themselves.

What we really need is a pro-civil libertarian middle third party.

And what that needs is generational level work to make it a reality.
The Greens, like them or not, had to spend twenty years knocking on doors, finding qualified candidates at every level.
You can't just push a "Jill Stein" at the White House and post an 800 number and a PO Box and expect everything else to just happen.
(I mean the collective "you", not you personally.)

Third parties are impossible in America only because people expect it to work like dropping a bullion cube into fifty gallons of boiling water and suddenly you have soup for an army.

I liken it to the Battered Woman Syndrome.

From the outside looking in, we can't fathom why MAGA stays with the abuser. But from their vantage point, there is a lot more to consider.

Do you have any idea who funded Jan 6th? Was a list of donors made public or was it a bit of a secret?

Truth. 100%

Yep
