Why does Trump lie?

Why does Trump lie?

I'm sure triggering that belief is one of the character issues the President likes to tweak. It certainly exposes the indoctrination that pushes such a narrative.

...or Trump is so full of **** it's causing his eyes to dilate. Given the multiple lies he tells or Tweets daily, he's either a chronic liar or delusional. Given his behavior for the past several years, I'm inclined to believe the latter.

None of your selections accurately describe why Trump lies.

Trump is a pathological liar. This is typically one manifestation of a clinical disorder such as ASPD and NPD.

This is where truth is of no relevant to the individual and words are used strictly to advance a personal agenda.

In Trump's case specifically it is his compulsion to advance himself which renders the truth immaterial.

People like he are generally delusional as they never process objectively.

There is not a medical professional alive that is not "objectively" terrified to have a personality like this in charge of the free world.

You would vote for a creepy pedophile Biden over Trump. Is that not a terrifying thought?

I posted a link some days ago how many times Trump changed his political affiliation. The dude's been there and done that. He is an opportunist. He tells people what they want to hear. Which politician doesn't to get ahead, to get elected? I don't even want to render a guess what manipulating and scheming is going on in Congress, both sides.

The only problem with comparing Trump to other politicians who lie is that most only lie for political advantage. Trump lies when there is no political advantage to be gained. He lies because he thinks his lies will impress people.

The dilated eyes mean he is on some kind of drug. Usually heavy drug users hide that by wearing sunglasses all the time.

You have to talk to them. I stand by "all politicians lie". It is what they do.

This is false equivalancy and whataboutism. It's a nihilistic line of thought that ends in the utter ruin of intellectual discourse. You have to ask yourself why you are contributing to it.

I've yet to hear the story of Biden walking in on semi-naked teenagers to ogle their bodies. Got a similar story?

Typical Trump enabler. Ignore the transgressions of Trump and make things up about his opposition.

There is absolutely no evidence that Biden is a pedophile. None whatsoever. You're lying as usual.

Trump is incapable of telling the truth to any sustained degree (pathological liar) and also does so to confuse others, especially so that others cannot get a take on him, at all. You can just about bet on him making a decision different from any of advice given him because he can't stand anyone telling him what to do or it possibly being said something was somebody else's idea. That's narcissism. Also, it's not a lie when a narcissist says it. Saying so makes it true. Barr giving Trump immunity from federal law only encourages Trump to do worse, more impeachable conduct as will being acquitted of impeachment by the Senate give him the greenlight to run red lights. He can only do something more bizarre the next day than last as that is part of his MO and may just get him impeached again, if he tries his Trump best/worst.

In other news, Trump is a creepy pedophile who has been accused of raping a minor alongside Epstein and partaking in his child-sex-rings. I'm also suspicious about his history with Ivanka. Yes, I said it.

Geeesh.....what a stupid poll!...........Typical socialist-progressive bull****!

Biden letting little kids play with the hair on his legs.

Biden letting little kids play with the hair on his legs. Maybe that's normal to you people.

He is a born liar. All of us know born liars. They simply cannot tell the truth because their minds convince themselves that what they want is more real then what actually happened. The only way to break a born liar is to make him fall hard, really hard. Even then, the reformed liar will still lie.

My oh my.....another hate Trump thread, why am I not surprised. Trump is firmly entrenched into some liberals/progressives minds.

How would you know how many lies any of those prior President's have actually said/done?

The invention of recorded audio and video....

The ludicrous arguments and rationalizations some of you core Trump supporters engage in to rationalize and defend his pathological lying are truly pathetic.

You left off He's the Antichrist.

Terrible and hyper-partisan poll is terrible and hyper-partisan.

Politicians all lie because controlling perception is more important than addressing truth.
BINGO! Drop mic...

I'd say he lies because he's a pathological liar. More than one explanation may be correct. Lying is his nature, but that is no excuse for continuing to lie. IMO, he does know better, but is too arrogant to care.

What Trump does is deliberate. It's not so much that it is a lie, but rather that it is deliberately outrageous, and it has a very specific purpose.

Going all the way back to the GOP primaries and debates, whenever the media started to focus on anyone but Trump, he would immediately spew or tweet something outrageous true or not. Birtherism was a big lie Trump went to time after time. That would invariably turn their focus back to where it belonged - on him. Then it was quoting National Inquirer articles accusing Hillary of one thing after another.

It didn't matter what he said, if it was true or not, as long as it got the focus back on him, that's all that mattered. Consequently, the 16 other GOP candidates could not get a word in edgewise. And on the rare occasion when someone would seek out the view of one of Trump's rivals, it was invariably "What do YOU think about what Trump said?"

Once he was elected, Trump continued in his lying ways. He would seemingly lie about big things and little, important things and inconsequential things. It didn't seem to matter. It didn't seem to make sense. People would scratch their heads and ask themselves "Why would Trump lie about THAT?" Or "Why would Trump bring THAT up?"

Well, it was simply a continuation of his election strategy - keep the focus on what I want and away from what I don't want.

Watch from now on. When some bad news about Trump catches our eye, in a very short time Trump will come out with something - anything - to distract us from it. There is a method and a purpose. Don't forget that.

I voted for #1 because the definition of lie is knowingly making a false statement and everyone is able to resist the temptation to lie. Therefore, #2 is the opposite of lying. However, many of his false statements are directly caused by a lack of knowledge and he is a pathological liar. But some lies can only be explained as saying he is above the law while others make me wonder if he needs a psychiatrist.

Well the psychiatrists themselves think he needs a psychiatrist.

Here is a petition signed by over 60,000 mental health professionals back in 2017:

“We, the undersigned mental health professionals, believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States. And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is ‘unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.’”

The dilated eyes mean he is on some kind of drug. Usually heavy drug users hide that by wearing sunglasses all the time.

Based on his symptoms and history, he's probably snorting Adderall. It's an amphetamine which would make an overweight, out-of-shape 73 year old feel 40 again but also a bit erratic. Hence his behavior during his rallies.

Trump has several of the symptoms of Adderall addiction:

Telltale signs of Adderall abuse may include:

Being overly talkative
Loss of appetite
Unusual excitability
Social withdrawal
Financial troubles
Aggression
Sleeping for long periods of time

Exhaustion
Excessive weight loss
Memory loss
Incomplete thoughts
Relationship problems

Decline in personal hygiene
Frequently taking pills
Financial difficulties
Overworking or overconcentrating
Running out of prescriptions early
Disorientation
Mania
Impulsive behaviors

They'd still have to work hard to catch up to 8 years of hate Obama threads. This forum is full of examples were Obama was firmly entrenched into conservative/regressive minds.
