The half that have lived here for 8 years or more have steady jobs and family and haven't run seriously afoul of the law yes. It would be political suicide to root out such and send them to a camp to be deported. They would have to come out from the shadows and work towards becoming citizens. This is provided the border is shut and the criminals deported.
