They simply repeat what God says - what will happen to those who reject GOD.
That's a huge part of spreading the gospel. We can't give out an incomplete message.

It is only fair................................ that we also impart the consequence of our choice.

Because at it's core, religion is intentionally divisive as it hands to human beings, with their own ideologies and faults, a mechanism to argue their take on their imaginary friend is superior over others with a slightly different take on same imaginary friend.
