Why can't one copy/paste from Snopes?

They are trying to force you to link to them instead so they get the traffic. No different than websites who block right-click so you cannot download their photos.

I did just find something that might come in handy to some. If one right clicks and selects Inspect Elements, you can go in and copy from there -- but only chunks at a time. I tried it. It works.

Thanks, Fisher. Imagine if the whole web was like that! Yikes!

Yeah, I have figured out ways around that right click block thing before but I don't recall how I did it now. I think it is kind of stupid from a user standpoint, but it might also be a way to keep those sites that farm their content from others at bay, which I sort of agree with.

Is there a secret I don't know about?

If you are using firefox hit ctrl and A to select all and ctrl and C to copy all. Then past it to Notepad if you are in advance mode(pasting while in advance mode will paste the whole page), or paste in quick reply mode and remove what text you don't need.

Birth Certificate
Claim: Barack Obama's birth certificate is a forgery.

FALSE
Example: [Collected via e-mail, June 2008]

I read that Obama will not release his birth certificate. Have heard rumors it's because he is listed as white. Or that because he isn't a U.S. born citizen.

Origins: In April 2011, President Barack Obama sought to put end to rumors claiming that he was not a natural-born citizen of the United States by obtaining and releasing a copy of his long form birth certificate issued by the state of Hawaii. Officials from that state certified that the copy of the certificate they provided to President Obama was authentic:
The Hawaii State Health Department recently complied with a request by President Barack Obama for certified copies of his original Certificate of Live Birth, which is sometimes referred to in the media as a "long form" birth certificate.

OCR. It's the general system that is used by various forms of software to convert images (or text that can't be copied) into plain text format.

I recommend JExplorer Website Powered by Woo Sik Jung You can use it to create plain text files from anything that you can screen shot, like PDF's, Flash based websites, etc. Hope it helps :)
