Why are we hearing so much about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, but not Melissa Hortman?

It shows that most of the right does not celebrate murder, and most of the left does.

Had most of the right celebrated the murder of Melissa Hortman the same way that most of the left celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk, it would have been a much bigger news event.

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump said the targeted shootings of two Minnesota state lawmakers "will not be tolerated in the United States of America" and vowed the shooter who carried out the brazen attacks will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Trump said he's been briefed on Saturday's shootings of state Rep. Melissa Hortman, the speaker emerita of the Minnesota House of Representatives, who along with her husband was shot and killed, and Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman.

In a June 14 post on his social media app Truth Social, Trump said Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the situation "and they will be prosecuting anyone involved to the fullest extent of the law."

"Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America. God Bless the great people of Minnesota, a truly great place!" Trump said.

So.. no one actually cared about these events, and Americans ignored them and decided they were mostly fake news and not worthy of support?

I can see you point, even if I disagree. You are probably right; no one actually fears the things you listed.

But they fear being targeted for free speech.

Weird argument. People care about being shot for just stating their opinion. That's what scares people, far more than car crashes or plane crashes or windmill cancer or whatever; the fact that someone might think it's ok to shoot a person for talking, and others would not condemn it and beat the ever living **** out of a person who would do so, but might actually support them or excuse their actions, is what causes fear in people.

The 25th amendment isn't the solution, and sets a president for political coups against democracy. Impeachment is. And Republicans are to blame for not removing him.
