Why are we hearing so much about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, but not Melissa Hortman?

The assassination of Charlie Kirk has drawn huge rallies from the right in support of his family. It has been called a pivotal point in the conflict between the left and the right. People are calling for civil war. President Trump has said this is evidence that the left has gotten more violent than ever and can no longer be negotiated with.

But what about the assassination of Melissa Hortman and her husband, in their own home? Who did it? What do we know about him? What does that indicate about the potential for violence by the right?

Good question. Where was the memorial service for them, complete with grifting and pyrotechnics?

Yep. The GOP!

When the Democrat media found that she voted with Republicans her death was swept away like anything that doesn't support the narrative.

Why isn't president Trump speaking more about the assassination of this elected official? Why isn't he going there and giving their family a big hug? How much coverage has Fox News given it? Why isn't this even more evidence that the right's predisposition to violence is now off the charts and needs to be reined in? After all, there is far more evidence for that than any leftist tendency to violence- according to Trump's own FBI.

Think real hard and maybe you can discover a reason?

Yep. So that seems like even more reason we should be talking more about Melissa Hortman than Charlie Kirk. This silence on Hortman's assassination is a little weird, don't you think?

Melissa Hortman wasn't as well known. Kirk had a national following. Why didn't the democrats bring more attention to it?

Melissa Hortman wasn't as well known.
She was an elected public official. Kirk was an entertainer.

Because they have the integrity to not exploit the actions of some random crazy "second amendment people" for politics.

How much attention has Fox News given it?

Yep, those (GOP) do everything to violence and place the lawful. when their are riots, thefts, rapes and murders they put them to the Leftist and Democrats.

Some people that they believe this is true without facts. And the some of the people who are not have any facts are not behind all of the time.

Nobody stopping you from talking about her. Get on with it. Start page on her. Simple numbers, millions followed Kirk.

Really no matter what he did or did not do the Trump haters would do what they do every single hour at DP. They would bitch and cry!

Not saying their deaths weren't equally as tragic but as to the question of why we aren't hearing much about them, I live in Minnesota and I had never even heard of them prior to their murder.

Charlie Kirk was famous and his story just naturally draws more publicity.

More than the left news gave the Ukrainian woman that was stabbed by the black psycho on the Charlotte N.C. train.

Why don't you ask that question to your very own lefty media, who have paid far more attention to Kirk than to the Hortmans. If you think about it the answer is clear. The Hortmans were locals who no one knew outside of their area while Charlie Kirk was well know all over the country and the world and influenced literally millions and millions and millions of people. How many people were influenced by the Hortmans?

President Trump condemns 'horrific' shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump said the targeted shootings of two Minnesota state lawmakers "will not be tolerated in the United States of America" and vowed the shooter who carried out the brazen attacks will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Trump said he's been briefed on Saturday's shootings of state Rep. Melissa Hortman, the speaker emerita of the Minnesota House of Representatives, who along with her husband was shot and killed, and Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman.

In a June 14 post on his social media app Truth Social, Trump said Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the situation "and they will be prosecuting anyone involved to the fullest extent of the law."

"Such horrific violence will not be tolerated in the United States of America. God Bless the great people of Minnesota, a truly great place!" Trump said.

Why don't you ask that question to your very own lefty media, who have paid far more attention to Kirk than to the Hortmans.

The only reason the "lefty media" is paying more attention to Kirk is because the right is calling for civil war now to avenge him, and the president of the United States is using this to only further drive hate, fear, and division in the country. Trump knows he can only survive politically if he keeps fanning those flames. Otherwise, people might have time to pay actual attention to the Epstein files, or the economy, or why the Russia/Ukraine war is not over in 24 hours, or why they price of milk hasn't come down yet, etc, etc...- heaven forbid.

So it's as Bannon said: "flood the zone with shit"- and you can get away with anything.

Because R's are doing everything they can to hide from the facts...
"The far right has been gaining momentum for decades, helping to proliferate conspiracy theories and ideologies such as white supremacism, antisemitism, and anti-government extremism, which have fueled an increasing number of violent incidents."
