Why are Republican voters so easily suckered?.
what have Republicans been right about in the past 40 years?
opcorn2: (“Honest question” that is blatant ideological attack with no possible discussion value whatsoever, but it’ll be fun to watch.)
It is an ideological attack but also an empirical truth. Would you say that Republican voters are not easily suckered? I mean... pick an issue. Look at what Republicans believe and are willing to believe with little prodding.
I can tell you this, we have had Ray-Gun and Bush SR from teh GOP. The two best Presidents of the last 40 years.
I think the problem you make is identifying Trumpism with Republicans.
Well aside from the fact that I'd argue both choices, and never mind that the list of presidents in the past 40 years is pretty short, I think we should stick to modern incarnations of the GOP, which has changed rapidly since the 2000s and has exhausted every brand of conservatism within the Republican tent without finding one that works and isn't a pure con job.
Actually I'm not.
Republicans gain voters on just the strength of one issue, like Judges.
(Others are God, Gays, Abortion, Guns, Anti-Science, Climate Destruction, ETC)
Democrats lose voters over just one issue, as we see with third partiers.
(False narratives and equivocations, Not moving fast enough on issues, Being too left-centrist)
If anything, I would say Republicans were ‘easily suckered’ by a non-conservative, questionable Christian, and ethical disaster in Trump.
And I do contend that Trump has hijacked the Republican Party to the point of irreparable damage.
But overall it is not very reasonable to say that Republicanism, or Conservatism, has gotten everything wrong for 40 years (your contention.) Understand I am liberal, classical liberal at that, but I would not be willing to go so far as to claim the entire ideology is never right.
That is your ship to sail, and explain far better than your OP tried to do.
Oh so because Trump is unethical he doesn't represent conservative ideology and isn't consistent with the past 40 years of the conservative movement? Care to debate that?
Define 'hijack', please. Trump has successfully carried out much of the GOP agenda for the past 40 years better than his predecessors, and THAT is why Republicans love him overwhelmingly.
Which issue have Republicans and the conservative movement been right about in the past 40 years? Climate change? Trickle down economics? Terrorism? Give me an example.
I'm pretty happy with my OP and my responses extrapolating my point. I think I understand Republicans better than anyone in this thread so far. That you'd argue Trump is an aberration of ideology is quite amusing.
Trumpism is all about antiquated social issue. People who want to live in the 1950's.
Look around, they are morons.

Imagine what the rest of the World thinks seeing these bat-**** crazy morons at a rally.
Un-****ing-believable.
Opinions vary!
Reagan tripled the national debt and set us on the path to ever increasing deficit spending
Reagan began the trickle down economics that has brought us to a period.of income disparity equal to what.it was just before the great depression.
Reagan union busting and weakening of antitrust laws has resulted in the decline of America's middle class
There is more if you do your research
As.for Bush Sr. nothing stands out.for that 1 term president. Now his son the dick and jr administration was.a total disaster. I thought he was the worst.in myifetime but then along came trump.
Honest question. Republican politicians know their base is easily suckered, they prey on their inability to navigate complicated concepts, they prey on their cultural fears, and they know they'll believe most of the rubbish they pedal if they just say it enough. The lies are so egregious and ridiculous that it doesn't seem like they're even trying to craft clever deception. Trump is able to confidently say stuff like, 'If we didn't test, there wouldn't be a COVID problem' and get applause. I would expect better arguments from an ostrich that has been hit in the head with a sledge hammer. Yet, people are still willing to believe him and trust him.
In addition... what have Republicans been right about in the past 40 years? I can't think of a single big issue they've been on the right side of in my lifetime. You'd think the well of trust would be poisoned by now. I couldn't stand being wrong so consistently, and I certainly won't trust someone who led me down that path over and over and over again.
If you are so arrogantly right in your opinion, then explain why Democrats lose so often.
(BTW, you going after me on all this explains volumes to that answer that I expect you will ignore entirely... assuming you even get it.)
Conservative?
You mean he uses conservative social issues to make his Orcs feel all fuzzy.
Have you seen the deficit this misfit has rolled up? And you call him conservative?
Could your blathering rhetoric get anymore arrogant?
