Who's ready for TACO Friday?

Will Trump chicken out and put another pause on tariffs or will they all go into effect?

Hey folks, don't forget, Friday is the day Trump TACOs or the country gets ****ed. That's the day everyone get's tariffs that have been on pause!

Well, maybe not "everyone"? Trump started writing letters and then just...stopped.

Will Trump make this TACO Friday, or will he stick it to the American consumer?

Don't know why he would send letters to countries anyway. He ought to be sending letters to the American companies that import goods and materials and energy. They're the ones that will be billed.

I suspect he will go through with them. He isn't happy with the TACO label. Outside chance he gives Canada a bit more time.

I went with "Other". I'm finding it difficult to predict what someone with declining, shall I say, lucidity, will do. If you can easily see what would be best for Trump alone, then go with that.

Other - most tariffs will go into effect, but Trump will claim that a few countries have a ‘temporary’ reprieve - claiming that ‘serious’ trade negotiations are underway.

Same with these "deals". Governments can say whatever they feel they need to say to appease him but in the end it is businesses and consumers who buy the goods and invest in America not governments unless the deal is for military equipment.

I think wall street and others have move past this tariff thing. No, the economy didn't collapse. Matter of fact it's more robust than ever. And inflation? LOL ... the big spike up will always be next month or sometime in the future. Huge mistake to let your political ideology to drive your investments.

Lol to the bolded. There is zero indications of this being true other than MAGA fantasy.

When he says there are no deals, you should understand that he's clueless.

Concerning the TACO narrative, we have a 10% active tariff almost across the board.

There are no deals.

Please show me the text of a single deal.

Just one, signed off by all involved parties.

One.

Go!

You start with something false.

Nice attempt to move the goalposts.

Justify your position that the deals with China and the EU are invalid because it is not yet fully confirmed.

Lol, those aren't deals they are concepts of a deal.

Show me the text of these deals.

You can't.

Hard to predict. He’s not stable, and is driven by his myriad weaknesses and personality disorders. He is continually frustrated that he is not universally adored - which he is desperate to have and never will.

Donald is a sad, angry dotard who is causing more damage every day.

Deals are not unilateral and don't come with threats.......extortion is a better word.

Tariffs are taxes that are ultimately paid for by US consumers. Trump is making everything more expensive wheel he flails and fails at trying to take us backward to the 1950’s.

Voted other, I am sure there will be some degree of TACO'ing on trade on Friday and beyond.

But it all boils down to the transaction for Trump, what is in it for him even if just the ego of seeing a nation cave. It is not really about trade or benefit to the American consumer, and onshore there will be business that will flock to him also aiding in that transaction to Trump's benefit.

It'll be a mess and the markets will continue to respond erratically as Trump's TACO temper tantrum trade mentality instills.

There must be, since international trade is continuing and US tariff revenue is being collected.
That's not because of any deals, that's Trump abusing tariff power.

Arguing about who should (legally) be able to make US tariff ‘deals’ doesn’t mean such ‘deals’ don’t exist.
