I have seen a lot of name calling and finger pointing on the interwebs since the election results.

A lot of people asking how Trump could not only win the E.C., but the popular vote, too.

How could republicans win a majority, not only in the senate, but the house too?

The question I want to ask is why did the young black vote double for Trump this election?

Why was the Latino vote closer to 50/50 than the normal 60/40?

What happened to the 13 million more democrat voters that voted for Biden, but didn't show up for Harris?

Could it be that they didn't want to vote for a candidate that wasn't even elected to run?

It seems to me, that if democrats want to know how Trump got elected, the party should only look in the mirror.

A lot of people seem to think that their vote doesn't matter. I don't know how to fix that.
There are 262,100,000 people in this country who are voting age.
Only 149,000,000 showed up to vote for this election.

Only seven states matter (three and a blue dot, really).

Check their numbers.

As I see it, Americans won't elect a woman president ever, period.

I don't think there will be a woman president in my lifetime. The next Democratic candidate needs to be a straight, middle-aged white guy. It pains me to say it but I think it's the reality.

I don't think it's that alone. Harris was an incumbent in that she was part of the current administration, and I suspect that played a much bigger role than her being a woman. She also lost ground among women voters than her predecessors.

I'm not saying it was aliens but,

it was aliens.

Or ghosts.

Both are good candidates.

Democrats were so passionate about demonizing Trump they started believing their own lies and completely underestimated him. You win elections by the strength of your own candidate not how weak you think your opponent is.

Well, we all know that isn’t true.

Some died. Some switched to Trump. My guess is most are too detached that they forgot the horrors of Trump 1.0.

Could it be that they didn't want to vote for a candidate that wasn't even elected to run?

No. All the polls were clear that Harris had a lot more support than Biden.

Sure. Maybe. However, that does not absolve those that stayed home or those that voted for Trump from helping the worst president who is hell bent on ending democracy in this country to run it again. Whatever is coming is well deserved by them.

Have you? Did you find anything interesting?

Wapo did this: (2024 numbers may still increase)

2024 vs 2020
Nationally: 64.5% vs 65.5% (1% higher in 2020)

Battleground states:
Higher % in 2024:

MI: 73.8% vs 72.8%
PA: 70.2% vs 69.8%
WI: 76.1% vs 75%
GA: 67.6% vs 66.7%
NV: 64.2% vs 64.1%

Higher % in 2020:
NC: 69.2% vs 70.7%
AZ: 63.5% vs 66.2%

P.S. Before I found WaPo, I tried on my own but for some reason got very different numbers - I am sure I got it wrong and they got it right:

MI: 8,487,121 registered voters

Current results:
Donald Trump 2,804,647; Kamala Harris 2,724,029; Others: 110,025, consisting of
- Jill Stein 44,697
-Robert Kennedy 26,847
-Chase Oliver 22,599
-Randall Terry 6,723
-Cornel West 6,721
-Joseph Kishore 2,438
Total 2804647+2724029+110025=5638701

Overall MI turnout
5638701 / 8487121=66.4% voted vs WaPo reporting 73.8%

NC state says 73.10% vs WaPo reporting 69.2% (is it because 4% did not choose a President??)

GA 64% (as of a week ago) vs WaPo reporting 67.6% (more got counted?)

PA has 9,160,849 eligible voters
PA voting results:
KAMALA D HARRIS (DEM) 3,390,294
DONALD J TRUMP (REP) 3,524,281
CHASE OLIVER (LIB) 33,110
JILL STEIN (GRN) 34,130
6981815 / 9160849=76.2% vs WaPo 70.2% ?!

WAPO details on their numbers: "Turnout rates are calculated by dividing the number of votes for the presidency by the voting-eligible population. The 2024 vote count is from the Associated Press in states where more than 97 percent of the expected vote has been counted. In states where less than 97 percent of the vote has been counted, expected vote totals, also provided by the Associated Press, were used."

BTW, it's 8.4 million, not 13 million (and it keeps shrinking as counting still continues)

Harris was an incumbent trying to convince us that she was running as a change candidate, while unable (or unwilling) to say which (current) Biden/Harris policies she disagreed with.

Yeah, she did not do a good job at that. I'm not a comms person, but I'm sure there's a way of messaging change without having to throw your president under the bus.

We know who's really at fault:

They could already see Biden isn't fit to run again .......................................and they all pretended everything is fine!
They were adamant, he is fine!
They gave him the reassurance........................the confidence........................"you're fine!"
Heck, even kamala said, he is fine.

It took George Clooney to finally blow the whistle!
At the 11th hour!

He isn't fine!
He ain't the same guy!

Now - they're blaming BIDEN for Kamala's loss! 😁

If only he'd stepped down sooner, they say! :ROFLMAO:

Theres absolutely no logical explanation for it since a steaming dog turd would literally be a better President than Crooked donnie trump. And its glaringly obvious.

Theres a terminally stupid factor, that cannot be denied, and also an American Racism factor, but still that wouldnt fully explain what would cause so many folks to go out and actually vote for such an utter turd as Crooked donnie.

Of course they would. She would just need to be tough on crime and illegal immigration and have some coomon sense when it comes to the economy and government spending.

If a "steaming dog turd" trounced your candidate, what does that make them?

Nope. There have been surveys and interviews all over the country. Men and women are saying the same thing, especially the men of minorities. "I just don't think a woman can do the job."

It's called misogyny and this country is up to their neck in it.

O B A M A!

President Obama mocked Donald Trump during his speech at the 2011 White House Correspondents' Dinner
Now there are suggestions that the event encouraged Trump to run for president.
According to the New York Times, "That evening of public abasement ... accelerated his ferocious efforts to gain stature within the political world."

C-Span Political Editor Steve Scully, who was at the event, told IE: "It was clear that Donald Trump was not happy. He bolted for the exit before the end of the night

He goaded Trump to finally make the move to run for President.

During Seth Meyers’ performance at the 2011 White House Correspondents' Association annual dinner, the “Late Night” host targeted some of his jokes at Donald Trump, who was sitting in the audience.
Some say it was that night that drove Trump to run for office, but Meyers is putting the blame squarely on former President Obama.
