Not even Belgium, really. Just one asshole Belgian. Possibly the worst person of all time. Certainly the worst of the 19th century.

He ran the Belgian Congo as a private possession and basically enslaved and maimed most of the country.

I speak of course of Leopold II, worst of the name.

Your list is very telling. Its missing a few instances of genocide. Quite a few in fact.

But....thats different.............
 
I also include England for its role in the slave trade. I would include Africa for the same reason. The slave trade could not have happened had Africans not been willing to sell other Africans to slavers.

Well you would have to define what “crime” means since the only actual crimes committed by white Europeans in Africa were by the Belgians

I don’t consider conquering primitive peoples and colonizing the land to be a crime, it’s more of a real estate transaction negotiated with guns instead of down payments and escrow

The slaves were enslaved by rival black African leaders, the Portuguese likely saved the lives of millions of black Africans who would’ve otherwise been sold to Arabia and castrated and worked to literal death.

Slavery was largely a black on black or Arab on Black crime and it’s time to stop lying about history on this topic
