Who are your top 10 actors of all time?

Navy Pride said:
You may be a little young for some of his great movies like Mr. Roberts, The Apartment, and The Days of Wine and Roses.............They are classics

excuse me, Navy Pride, but some of us seek out movies from BEFORE our time....I have seen all of the movies above....The Apartment is one of my all-time favorite films.

And don't forget The Prisoner of Second Avenue, The Out-of-Towners, Save the Tiger, Missing and Some Like It Hot.

I was actually speaking of men as actors but if you want to get into Actresses

Hey NP,
I do some script writing and have taken some classes in regards to film, and something I heard in one of the classes said that using the term "actress" will sometimes be seen as a lesser title than "female actor".

..Save the Tiger...

If I remember correctly, Lemmon won a best actor oscar for his role in that.

My list;
Diane Lane in places 1-5. :D
then
Kevin Costner
Jack Nicholson
Bruce Willis
Brendan Frasier
Anne Hathaway

No need to apologize, NP. I was going to put a wavy guy on mine, too, but forgot. I didn't want it to sound snooty. :2wave:

Yea, your right.
By the by, I wasn't trying to be a butthead, just passing on some info that I had. I'm sorry if I came across as a punk. I like the topic, I just think Diane Lane is as fine an actor as any man! ;)

Threads like this are akin to a rest stop on the interstate; an oasis in the desert; an island in the middle of the ocean. Were so nice and courteous to each other here. When in contrast, were at each others throats on other threads. I guess that's what life's all about. The yin and the yang.

Those are some great names. I agree with all your picks. Among the younger actors (the younger generation) I would also add Jude Law. And I loved that someone picked Reese Witherspoon, she's also one of my favorite actresses. Also of course Renée Zellweger.

Wow I just realized Marlon Brando isn't on that list either! He would definitely be on my top ten list. I'm too lazy to pick just ten names though, so I'll just add the four I mentioned to your list. So I have a list of the top 14 actors (and actresses) of all time. Oh wait, but then Grace Kelly and Gary Cooper weren't in there either. And Gene Hackman. And Matt Dillon.

Oh brother. I think I might need a top 20 list...

:3oops:
