White supremacists present the gravest terror threat to the United States, according to a draft report from the Department of Homeland Security.

Two later draft versions of the same document — all of which were reviewed by POLITICO — describe the threat from white supremacists in slightly different language. But all three drafts describe the threat from white supremacists as the deadliest domestic terror threat facing the U.S., listed above the immediate danger from foreign terrorist groups.

“Foreign terrorist organizations will continue to call for Homeland attacks but probably will remain constrained in their ability to direct such plots over the next year,” all three documents say.

Russia “probably will be the primary covert foreign influence actor and purveyor of disinformation and misinformation in the Homeland,” the documents also say.

None of the drafts POLITICO reviewed referred to a threat from Antifa, the loose cohort of militant left-leaning agitators who senior Trump administration officials have described as domestic terrorists. Two of the drafts refer to extremists trying to exploit the “social grievances” driving lawful protests.

The cut-off date for information analyzed in the earliest draft is August 3, 2020, while the cut-off date for the next two is August 27.

My home town has a history of white supremacy.

Not unexpected to see the usual defence responses -- What about those looters and attacks on police by BLM and AntiFa? Yeah, what about them? Are such acts the right thing to be doing? NO!

However, as we have seen with foreign entities hacking into American websites, pushing all manner of conspiracy tales, and a couple strange accounts of individuals showing up during protests and causing damage to businesses and other criminal acts, one should admit the possibility of agitators trying to bring down the protest movement by committing these crimes.

If the BLM/AntiFa 'gangs' are so evil, why are the security professionals focused on white supremacists? Is it Deep State operatives doing what they can to take down Trump?

It may not be entirely new, but the cranking up of the volume on it and its emboldening and entering mainstream politics in the Whitehouse with the likes of Bannon and Miller IS something entirely new since the 2016 election.

because there's really not a lot of them? there's not a whole lot of "nazi" or "KKK" neighborhoods out there. They do exist, mainly in former, run down coal towns, but most estimates i've seen are between 5,000 to 20,000 people in a country of 300 million. By the vast numbers of mentally ill people, the amount of druggies, and overall abused people, you'd think there'd be a lot more.

It just shows you how progressive the country really is over all, that even under bad conditions, white supremacists are still the most marginal of the marginal fringe in the country, and are not taken seriously by any capacity.

Actually if you read the police reports coming from these cities you will see that much of the riots have been started by WHites, not blacks. The white supremacy groups want to start a race war and they want people to go after the blacks and the best way to do that is make their peaceful protests into riots. Richard Spencer the White Supremacist leader who literally invented the term “Alt Right” hates Trump and is endorsing Biden. Anyone who has ever heard this guy talk knows he is a bigger Socialist than Bernie Sanders. Aside from the people who he chooses to hate and victimize he is the stereotype “Bernie Bro”.

Occasionally White Supremacist have called themselves Right Wing and tried to cling to the GOP & Trump out of ignorance and because todays Leftist Democrats are practicing a form of racism that leaves them out and even sometimes denigrates white people.

The GOP has never endorsed racist organizations, its only Leftist Democrats who has. They were the party of the KKK, Jim Crow and Segregation, aside from a few republican politicians who rarely voted with Democrats on some of those policies the GOP has no fingerprints on any of that.

Several decades ago, Democrat realized White Supremacy was becoming unpopular and no longer a winning political strategy. They did not give up on racism they just slowly started exploiting it from the opposite direction. Trading “White Supremacy” for “Identify Politics”, the KKK for Race Baiters and Groups like BLM.

At the same time, in addition to being Woodrow Wilson Progressive the Democrat party started leaning Soviet style Marxist. A favorite tactic of Marxist is to destabilize a country they are looking take over by expanding existing racial tensions, which is what is happening today.

There was a Big Switch, it just had nothing to do with the GOP. Although far from perfect, since the Civil War Republicans have just tried to be colorblind and treat everyone the same.

I'm sure they would, but they are not operating under any sort of central organization or backed by any resources. The leading world-wide extreme organizations are islamic radicals and usually have the backing of host governments. It wasn't the KKK that did 9/11, the most deadly terrorist attack in history, it was centrally organized islamic extremists 12,000 miles away.
