White Lives Don't Matter

Yes, us white folks are in real trouble!:lamo

Before you make that statement you should disclose the area you live in, I'm guessing it's probably not ethnically or racially diverse.

Police are not elected officials. Sheriffs are, but again that's not the whole police.

The KKK are private citizens and they garner a lot of attention, even though they haven't committed acts of unprovoked racial violence in decades.

I have a fundamental objection to my life being described as "white".

White lives are the most valued lives in this country, LOL. Anybody who says otherwise is either dumb, ignorant or a white supremacist.

I say otherwise.

I have a fundamental objection to my life being described as "white".

 I hadn't thought of that. Now that I have, I too have a fundamental objection to my life being described as ______ (fill in the category of your choice). I see others as unique individuals and regard myself as the same.

I expect we all do. We define the attributes of inanimate objects based on their appearance, function and properties. We shouldn't define humans in a similar manner. Naturally, if one's desire is to define humans in a manner similar to inanimate objects, then it would be wise to consider what the objective of such a definition might be. It certainly gives all the appearance of cheapening the value of individual lives. It's hard to get anywhere good from that position.

It is. When you see others as the unique individuals and fellow travelers they are, it becomes difficult to categorize.

Freddie Gray shot dead for harming nobody. Eric Garner choked to death for harming nobody.

Dylan Roof murders nine blacks and gets brought Burger King.

It isn't a matter of comprehending the BLM movement; its a matter of disagreeing with it.

Yes because white lives don't get free scholarships to many schools, they also don't have hiring or admission practices enforcing that certain races be hired based on their white race. They also don't have social problems or statistical problems like middle-aged while males increased mortality

This whole manufactured "white privilege" or "white lives matter more" is completely contrary to the evidence and policies allowed in the country. If anything, as a white person, you're valued less because you aren't given money for your race nor is your race a positive factor in many hiring/admission practices.

Show me any major institution, heck show me any institution that says they have preferential admission or hiring of whites or have white-based scholarship funds just for white people. Heck, show me a school or institution that has a mission statement of wanting to educate white people.

Not saying there aren't racial issues, but don't act as if there aren't disadvantages for many whites or that there isn't racial injustice done against white people either.

Also, I'm not a white supremacist. Personally I wouldn't classify myself as "dumb" or "ignorant" either.

No, its pretty much a matter of not understanding it. Disagreeing with it would be done by confronting the real issue directly, with denial that its a problem and evidence supporting such. The line of reasoning set forth by the poster is really much more an expression of ignorance.

If you are white, what's stopping you from protesting and bringing it to people's attention that you feel white lives dont matter?

Can you imagine how the motto "White Lives Matter" would be received? It's ok and even applauded to lament the loss of black lives. It would be considered racist to lament the loss of white lives.

other than saying it in a sarcastic way to make fun of civil rights protesters, i could not imagine anyone using the phrase "white lives matter" ...the rhodesian bush wars maybe???

Any person who believes this is either, 1) a white supremacist, 2) doesn't get out much, 3) trapped in victim ideology.

The problem with your statement is that it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you believe that, truly believe that, you will look and find things that happen in society to back up your claim, and you will unintentionally discard anything that opposes your claim.

It traps you in a world of your own making.

Believe whatever you want to believe. It will have no impact on reality.

You understand, I'm sure, that those who ask if "white lives matter" are pointing out, as Sanders did early on, that "all lives matter." BLM has its agenda and we should all understand what that is, but if you think someone who asks if "white lives matters" is making fun of civil rights protesters, you're way off base.

Where you, and many like you, jump the track is in thinking you somehow devalue the lives of blacks if you admit that all lives matter equally. It's self-defeating.

Sanders was right the first time...all lives matter. When we can get past separating out peoples' value by their race, we'll be on our way to healing. Until then, you're part of the problem, my friend, not the solution.

All lives do matter. That does get lost by some in this argument. If we want to end racism, we need to stop focusing on race. The people who keep bringing race into the equation fail to see that.

Media does not help race relations by making a big deal out of race every time a white person harms a black one. The liberals do not help race relations when they push for racial preferences. And people demanding "reparations" do not help race relations by demanding society provide handouts based on someone's skin color.

The KKK are private citizens and they garner a lot of attention, even though they haven't committed acts of unprovoked racial violence in decades.

Police are an executive branch agency. They are ultimately answerable to an elected mayor.

BLM has been primarily, at least as far as I know, about police shootings of black men and not about the KKK.

But specifically to the KKK they have a long violent history and even if they aren't violent now that alone makes them newsworthy

what agenda is that?

Probably to make money for one Shaun King.

Where Did All the Money Shaun King Raised for Black Lives Go? - The Daily Beast

so the entire international black lives matter protests that have been going on since 2012, is just a get rich quick scheme for one pastor? i didn't know that

Hellava thing. Eh?

Genghis Khan had a long and violent history too, but he's as much of a modern threat as the KKK.

Do you have any reason whatsoever to suggest that this is a hate crime? Because this sounds an awful lot like complete conjecture.
