And as we can see, NBC makes it as if since the numbers are down there is no problem or need for any intervention. Those metrics are still 'Unacceptable risk' for citizens.
We all should want to see crime reduced more in DC, and everywhere for that matter, with it taken head on imposing the will of the people on those who take advantage of our God given rights.

"After a week spent threatening a federal takeover of Washington, D.C., President Donald Trump says he has an announcement to make Monday — one which he says will end the crime he's spent the week focused on.
"On Monday, a Press Conference will be held at the White House which will, essentially, stop violent crime in Washington, D.C.," Trump said on his social media website, Truth Social.
"It has become one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the World. It will soon be one of the safest!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter," the post reads.
Violent crime in D.C. is down 26% so far in 2025 when compared to the same time period in 2024. Homicide has dropped 12%, and assaults with a dangerous weapon — which includes non-fatal shootings and stabbings — is down 20%.
Carjackings are also down in D.C. this year when compared to last year and the year before, when D.C. saw a spike."
