Ingalls Shipbuilding gives tens of millions of dollars to politicians in states to get favorable tax breaks and other government acts that allow them to build and expand shipyard and construction capability. They then give even more to federal lawmakers to direct contracts for constructing US Navy ships to their yards.

You would call that corruption. Do you think the thousands of Americans who work directly for the company, the tens of thousands who work for subcontractors who will also work on these projects, their combined tens of thousands of family members, and the millions of other Americans whose businesses will receive money from those workers and their families will want that “money out of politics”?
