You should first find out if your "ifs" are reality. Then you can worry about what was in it.
it sounds like, with this rouge ex-president, that we'll never know what he stole from We The People.

why do you still support a thief?

and in this situation, with a rouge president, (it sounds like) we can't even determine what he stole.

You’re right. It’s almost as if this is totally unprecedented situation that the system was never designed to deal with.

Or...if he stole anything at all.
i see you're still in denial.

why do you still support a thief who lied about what he stole and wouldn't give it back??

well, technically, it sounds like any government employee could so the same with what they have access to.

I've never supported a thief.

We know he stole stuff. Classified documents were recovered that he refused to hand over after months of the owners asking for them back and him swearing he’d already turned them over.

Before I can even address what is wrong with this, do you know what a SCIF is?

Russia likely, wouldn't be surprised if he shopped them to China and North Korea.

all i'm saying is from what you're describing people like the VP could do the same thing the rouge ex-president did. or the Chief of Staff. or people with top level clearance.

i thought we were way more secure than that.

No, not 99% of people with top secret or codeword clearances could.

But if one of the handful of senior leaders decided to turn traitor and start conducting espionage, the system is not designed to stop them.

But for the vast VAST majority of clearance holders, access and movement of classified information is much more restrictive.

There is NOTHING that ties any of these folders to any potential contents. They are generic folders with generic cover sheets that say NOTHING about their contents other than the classification level.
Does not change the fact they did not belong to Trump to do with as he pleased. He willfully lied to the FBI on possessing additional files.

How do you know?
I guess you're right. Since we're dealing with a child mentality, it's no wonder he took empty folders with classified cover sheets. Anyone would do that.

They're mine, and no one else gets to have them. Thumb in mouth temper tantrum Trump. Sure, you keep believing it.

The miracle man who can declassify documents by just thinking about it. Good grief. You support a man child.

i did not know that every past president could take top secret stuff to their homes and we'd not know.

that's crazy.

I think we are. The president gets clearance by the virtue of being elected. He never has to go through the intense vetting. Most people who get their clearance are honest.

Sounds like it's time we change the rules. Anyone even running for president or VP should be vetted for security purposes long before the election. Trump would have been disqualified.

The folders are not controlled items. They literally do not matter.

You are dismissed.

that's crazy.

There’s a basic assumption that the President and their direct staff won’t be traitors.

That would require a constitutional amendment.

If you disqualify a President based on the opinion of a faceless bureaucrat...or worse, his boss...you are now subverting the will of the people.

Your idea sucks balls.

Not really when you consider the quality of the majority of the people who voted Trump into office. Giving a bunch of deplorables the authority to control the national security of this great country just doesn't seem right since Trump came along.

Missing folders COULD indicate mishandling.

The fact that he had them is a problem. Those folders are not and were not his personal property. He should never have taken them and now he can go to prison.

Seriously, the folders are at best red herrings. They have no real significance. Focus on the classified documents themselves.

They are not. They are proof he had classified information that should never have left the white house.

It might all have been evidence proving the law-breaking of the FBI and Justice Department.

That would explain the breaking into the President's house and the number of agents sent.

The proof about Hunter and Joe might have been removed.
Deep state!!!!

🙄

I say again, these folders ARE NOT CONTROLLED ITEMS. There are probably tens of millions of these same identical generic folders circulating around the government. No one is going to care that he had them.

They are not proof that they ever had anything in them. There is nothing that ties one of these folders to potential contents.

Drop the folders entirely. Focus on the documents themselves.

well, from other posts in this thread, it sounds like they can't figure it out.

Unfortunately the posters here as well as the general public are privy to only a small portion of what the DOJ knows. It’s entirely possible that they are determining what else is missing and it’s possible location.
