Which country did trump sell our US documents (the ones missing in the 43 empty folders marked "Classified) to?

Which country did trump sell the our documents to?

There is nothing that ties a folder to any documents it’s might have carried.
Except for the DOJ knowing that some docs Trump took have still not been retrieved. Which would be the real problem. They might have the docs already. And maybe not. Only they know.

Except nothing. There is nothing that ties one of these folders to any docs it may or may not have had in it.

Except for the DOJ finding docs outside of folders or identifying missing sets of docs. The missing folders indicate mishandling at the very least.

Missing folders COULD indicate mishandling.

Seriously, the folders are at best red herrings. They have no real significance. Focus on the classified documents themselves.

Missing folders COULD indicate mishandling.
And in this case, they probably do.

And, for example, if the DOJ stands in front of a jury and presents 43 empty folders, with 21 sets of documents found outside of folders and an additional 22 missing, that would be compelling.

They would have to demonstrate those missing documents were actually at Mar a Lago. Empty folders aren’t evidence of anything by themselves.

You understand that a classified document transportation folder like this could hold as many documents as can physically fit in it, yes?

They aren’t one for one.

No they wouldn't. They know what docs Trump received. If docs on that list are missing, demonstrating this with the empty folders adds to the case of mishandling.

But I think we agree the docs will tell the tale, not the folders.

So, at least one set. So it could be more than 43 sets mishandled. They will add to the evidence.

No it won’t add to anything. It will show that the folders are not evidence of any wrongdoing by themselves. The prosecution won’t even bring them up as evidence.

Sure.

What makes you think there was anything in those empty folders?
There was at one time. So where did the docs go? These are the questions that need to be answered. You come right out and claim that perhaps the folders were empty. Well of course they were. That's the whole Effin problem. Why would Trump even possess empty folders marked classified?

You have to understand that were dealing with a person who does not think like most responsible government employees. Those folders had classified material in them at some point. Trump had the folders. He was not allowed to have the folders. It can be reasonably assumed that Trump handled the missing documents. Until proven otherwise, that's the way any investigator should approach this.

The folders are not controlled items. Anyone can have them.
i'm speaking of contents of both US Federal Government documents AND NOW how our military handles this stuff.

Those folders are not controlled items. Anyone can possess one of those folders provided it is empty. Hell, you can freely make your own. The PDFs for the cover sheets are on multiple unclassified government websites.

Whomever had the money.
I have no doubt Trump would use them as a domestic or international pawn to gain a political advantage.

The guy with held aid to Ukraine for some wild ass political dirt.

I would think that they should have a way to figure out which documents were missing and not harvested from the home of the orange pustule. I can see more search warrants in the near future.
well, from other posts in this thread, it sounds like they can't figure it out.

There is NOTHING that ties any of these folders to any potential contents. They are generic folders with generic cover sheets that say NOTHING about their contents other than the classification level.

and that baffles me. it makes stealing easier.

It really doesn’t. You need to actually learn about how classified docs are normally handled.
so if top secret docs were in a folder, that folder was stolen and the contents removed, and the folder tossed to the side (and someone found it) how do we know what was in it?

You don’t. And that’s by design. You don’t want potential adversaries knowing what is in these folders by looking at them.

But the person there were stolen from would be able to say what was in the folder to investigators.

You should first find out if your "ifs" are reality. Then you can worry about what was in it.

and in this situation, with a rouge president, (it sounds like) we can't even determine what he stole.
