Please describe your city and why it's the best plave ever to live!

I live in South Omaha, Nebraska. It's a very diverse part of the city with a rich history in immigration due to the packing houses in the area. Omaha is a very friendly city and almost has a small town feel to it. We have a world class zoo and many different attractions and cultural events you would probably think would never be here. We host the College World Series every year and that's a huge deal to most residents here, as there is many sports fans of all kinds. Of course the richest man in the world lives here, Warren Buffet, so that just says what kind of city is. We have a thriving economy in these tough times and our unemployment rate is one of the smallest in the countries. While you may think of Nebraska as a fly-over red state, Omaha is very blue and very open minded. It's a great city and one I am proud to say I am from.

I live in downtown Los Angeles.

Nebraska sounds really good right about now.

I live in a village in Wallonia that is not particularly nice, but if you like history it is great, because in a circle of 3 miles you have around 5 castles, one of Europe's biggest and oldest citadel, 2 forteresses and several smaller forts, with casemates and bunkers, a 1250-years old abbey where they make beer, a merovingian cemetery and several battlefields

Aside from history, it's calm except when there is the rock festival in the summer

The bad point is that there is no waffle shop in the aera

I live in Los Angeles, which has 80 degree weather in February....no wonder why so many people flock to live here.

I live in Chicago which rules because it isn't in Nebraska. :2razz:

Chicago is a great city....in fact, my favorite city in the US...too bad its just so friggin cold there in the winter. Other than that Chicago is awesome.

Our weather is definitely the suckiest part about Chicago. If it wasn't for the weather, there'd be no contest (although New Yorkers would still try to pretend there is )

Yeah, till they get here and realize the streets smell like piss (because the homeless who number almost as many as those with homes actually piss in the streets), the women are made of plastic and bleach, and the men might as well be women.

LA sucks donkey balls.

I live in Tyler, TX! It's awesome because you can do anything you want without feeling crowded. the nice thing about large-suburbs.

I live in Normal. Nuff said.

I live in the middle of nowhere yet can drive to Chicago (the greatest City in America) in 2 hours.

My morning commute is 8 miles, which takes 8 minutes.

60 miles an hour on the way to work in the morning is pretty sweet. The traffic is another drawback here, but all our drawbacks are made up for by the fact that we have Italian beef sandwiches and gyros on like every street corner.

I worked in the city for a few years many years ago. It just isn't me. I like to visit often, but I'm a rural guy and always will be

Property is so cheap that I have my own lake. It's actually just a pond, but if you want to fish or swim in it, you have to call it a lake.

And mowing the yard means sitting on my ass drinking a beer while the only part of me that sweats is my ass on a John Deere. That's living!

I live in a **** hole college town in a boring state. The only thing we really have going for us is that we're not ND, but 48 other states have that going for them too.

Chicago beats New York hands down. Chicago has everything that New York has....but it has better food and its clean.

You're funny Jallman....you just happen to live near the skid row area of Los Angeles ... what do you expect to find there? You could say the same about any city when you choose to live in that section of town.
You need to get out of your 4 block area....once you do you will see that there are a lot of reasons why thousands of people flock to LA every year.
LA is a world class city.....world class restaurants, world class arts, museums...not to mention the beaches. What other city can you ski and surf in the same day?
The only true downsides to living here are that it is very expensive (because so many people actually WANT to live here and iit is very crowded - traffic can be a nightmare. But when you have millions of people that want to live in a city....you have to deal with those things.

San Diego is a beautiful city...a little on the conservative side...but a very liveable city nevertheless.

I'm back in my wonderful home state of WV. I travel far and wide, see many places, experience many things... and always come back home. Why? Because most other place suck. Particularly California. Even more particularly - San Diego.

WV is full of natural beauty and natural fun things to do outdoors. Pretty much anything you want to do outdoors that doesn't require an ocean, you can do in WV. Rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, world class whitewater to raft, kayak, or canoe (or if you're me... boogie board), hunting, fishing, boating and associated activities, scuba diving, horseback riding, hiking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, etc, etc, etc.

All in a state that doesn't have stinky, smoggy, ugly, overpopulated metropolises and outrageous crime. All in a place you can leave your doors unlocked and walk anywhere at night without fear. All in a place where the people are who they are, not who their plastic surgeon made them appear to be.

In WV you can kayak down a treacherous class V or VI whitewater run and go snowboarding the same day. And THEN... go to a square dance. Awww... ****ing... yeah.

conservative? ROFLMFAO!!! It was more liberal than I could tolerate. The whole goddamn state is.

Nope, not too far at all. I used to live in the west suburbs of Chicago. It's just a couple hours away.

I used to go thru Normal three times a week on the way to the windy. Most of my work is from St.Louis to the west coast now, but if you want to party the windy is the place for it.

Never a dull moment and a party is going somewhere regardless of the hour of the day. Had a few parties in Bloomington/Normal in my younger days as well.

As a matter of fact there isn’t a burg between St.Louis and the windy that I haven’t had a few parties at,including the Dixie truck stop in McLean.

Ah yes, the indiscretions of youth, as a Senator from the great state of Illinois said a few years back.;)

Actually it was a representative that said that. The Speaker of the House. I lived in his district.

Ever stop in Pontiac?
